July 12 to July 14

I have been dying to go on a rally, but Gumball, Bullrun etc are far too rich for my blood. However this one seems nice and short (over a weekend so those of us with jobs can participate) and also pretty affordable to enter:

Entry fees are:
- $199 for each car and driver
- $169 for each passenger

The rates above apply to the first 50 cars. Once we reach 50 cars, rates go up $50. Once we reach 100 cars, rates go up another $50. Participation to this event will be limited to 200 cars. So do not wait!

I would love to get serious NSX Prime representation on this run.

I am registered as "NSX Prime|Team Royal Purple" (yes, I'm going to ask them if it's okay, and change it if it's not)

If you register, please put "NSX Prime|" in front of your team name!

I have a co-driver already, but anyone who needs one should also post here so they can find a helper who wants to ride shotgun.

No posts here but I hear through the grapevine that a couple of you have registered. Awesome! Now someone please win the rally so we can retain our superiority over much more expensive exotics :p

Just saw your post here. I registered as Team Dhalsim but I knew I could change it later. If we get enough of us lets decide on a Team name.

First Annual GG2H Rally!
Posted on November 25, 2012

Grab the keys to your favorite eye-catching wheels and join us in the San Francisco Bay Area on Friday on July 12, 2013 as one of the founding drivers of the First Annual Golden Gate to Hollywood Rally, a 100|OCT event!

The GG2H Rally 2013 is open to exotic cars (old and new), late model muscle cars and late model performance cars.

So far we’re expecting a few McLaren MP4-12c‘s; several Ferraris; Lamborghini Gallardos — no Aventador yet, but we’d love to have some in the line-up so help us get the word out; Nissan GT-Rs; a few Audi R8s; Aston Martins; more than a few Porsches – old and new; a couple Dodge Vipers; Lotus Elises; Jaguars, from a classic E-Type to the new XKR-S; loads of Mercedes AMGs, BMW M-Powers, and Audi S/RS/Rs; and more!

The GG2H Rally 2013 will celebrate everything that makes California awesome — and let’s face it, is there really a word that represents our Golden State better than the word “awesome”? — from the Golden Gate Bridge to Hollywood, from country backroads to open highways, from Pacific Ocean cliffs to city lights, from wine country to wine bars, from VCs to celebrities!

We will link California’s North to its South by meeting in the San Francisco Bay Area on Friday July 12th at 1pm, giving participants the chance to drive to the Start Location in the morning (especially important to our SoCal participants).

We’ll get everybody checked in, paid up, and all the cars stickered up in short order so that we can launch our first cars out on our first leg at 2pm sharp.

Unlike our “100 Miglia” drives, this event follows the rally format. Cars leave every 30 seconds, and need to go through checkpoints along the route. There will be different awards — from the most fun personality to the best looking car/livery — but the overall victory will be time-based. The organization will drive the route prior to the event to determine a baseline time which will NOT be disclosed to participants — when trying to determine your pace, just keep in mind that enthusiast driving is encouraged, but reckless driving will NOT be tolerated. Whoever gets the closest to — but not over — our baseline time will have the overall victory and will receive a nice award, sure, but as the overall winner of the first ever Golden Gate to Hollywood Rally, they’ll certainly have some serious bragging rights!

Checkpoints are being planned and we can’t wait to unveil all the different spots you’ll have to visit that weekend – surprise surprise, the Golden Gate Bridge is one of them, imagine that! We’ll have different fun ways to track your progress all weekend to ensure that all participants check in at all checkpoints.

The route will take participants to a location yet to be disclosed on Friday evening for a huge welcome dinner/party where the cars will be presented to all on a podium, where food will be aplenty and drinks a-flowing…

On Saturday morning, we’ll meet again bright and early — what? isn’t 9am early for most of us Californians? — at a local car meet for the start of our 2nd leg. It will take us all the way down to our Finish Line in Hollywood at the end of the day, through more checkpoints.

On Saturday night, results and trophies will be handed out at our Awards Dinner, followed by a typically Hollywood pool party.

On Sunday morning — for those who decide to wake up — we’ll attend a local SoCal car meet before we break at noon so all participants can get back home on Sunday afternoon.

Fees cover:
- Sticker Kit for Your Car
- Welcome Dinner/Party in the San Francisco Bay Area
- Awards Dinner in Hollywood
- VIP Access to the Pool Party in Hollywood
- Official Roadbook
- and more to come from our sponsors…

Now go REGISTER YOUR CAR!

Feel free to contact us for further questions regarding registration or payment.

The GG2H Rally 2013 is sponsored by:

- Big Boys and Big Toys, your weekly car events recommendations for the San Francisco Bay Area.

Ah, I am NSX Prime|Team Royal Purple. Are you NSX Prime|Team Dhalsim?

Just got the email today that the sponsorship from Royal Purple Inc went through. Wohoo!

Cant believe more people haven't expressed interest in this. Ben you should do the 100 Miglia they are running tomorrow.

Are you guys going by yourselves or with passengers?

I have a co-driver that I have rallied with before. Highly recommended to bring someone to look up routes, etc as the checkpoints are revealed.

I couldn't say for sure whether or not my wife and I would be available to do the rally that weekend and the deadline to pay was Tuesday so i thought it would be better to just say no this time.

Well, my car is stickered up and ready to go!

Plenty of pictures will be taken during the rally, but for now the purple princess is ready and waiting in the garage....

Thanks for sharing!

Two thoughts come to mind...

First, how did Kevin manage to drive all three of his cars?

And, second, I hope nobody was injured...

Wow! When you guys described to me the GT-R going over, I didn't realize that it was that far off the road! Is that ploughed area where he landed after coming off the road?
