How long was your hunt?

kept an eye on the market for a about 1.5 years but when a friend sent a listing of a midnight pearl (a color i didn't even know existed), i pulled the trigger immediately.

Thanks for all the replies. Some interesting stories! Please keep them coming.

Figured it was time for a quick update... Well, thankfully, my hunt turned out to be a lot shorter than expected. ;) A few months back, I got lucky and landed a truly mint, almost completely stock '98 NA2 with deep, lustrous original Formula Red paint, and just 59k miles on the clock. Ramon is now entrusted with helping me keep it in top shape. Taking it in for its 60k mile service soon.

Just shod it with new Bridgestone rubber, and had Ramon's guy do an alignment. Swapped in the newly fixed AC unit from Brian K. Next up, I'll have Eric at renowned Porsche trim specialists Bumper Plugs paint the center console and other interior trim pieces. Their work is absolutely second-to-none; anyone coming from the pcar world knows about Eric and his amazing work. I'll post up photos when it's all done. ;)

It took me about two years on and off to find the first NSX. I bought a one owner 91 with 70K miles and 5 speed. It got totaled two years later. When I finally decided to search for another, I found a Midnight Pearl with CTSC that I thought I liked. But, when I logged back on Prime to get contact info on the Midnight Pearl, I noticed that an Imola had just posted a few minutes earlier. I knew that they were rare and sold rather quickly. Now, I wasn't sure I'd like the orange interior but, I made an offer on it anyway. Three days later I was driving it home from the east coast. Both cars were bought on Prime and had others interested but, I had cash and was ready to close the deals within 48 hours. Both cars had complete maintenance records and all service was up to date. I drove both cars cross country to Texas.

your cars and stories are very similar to mine, posted three posts above yours. i too wasn't sure about the Imola, but love it now...
