Ok guys this is why I havent been posting in any of my other threads.
people are sending me their cars left and right very cool.

I had to go pick this one up personally and car dolly the thing back to tampa.

it has not ran in more than 2.5 years.

So I had to go pick it up and tow it back at 45mph all the way to tampa
almost a 9 hour drive yikes that killed me.

let the thread begin.

I removed the front bumper so it would fit on my sh_t ass car dolly.

the owner wants everything put back together and then resprayed red.

Re: New 1995 RED Re-assemble

was this the car someone posted about that was sitting in some guys frontyard baking in the sun for years?

Re: New 1995 RED Re-assemble

All non Targa tops retained the black roof until they stopped offering the coupe all together.

there are no 95 coupes

Re: New 1995 RED Re-assemble

here's a good question for ya....what color roof does the 94 coupe have?

Re: New 1995 RED Re-assemble

i think that one was a 91; i think sat around for 15 years and had corrosion everywhere, this one doesnt look like the one.

Re: New 1995 RED Re-assemble

You towed that car 9 hours with the rear wheels on the ground? Um, Not a good idea.

See page 1-9 of the service manual. If a flatbed is not available you should always tow with rear wheels off the ground. If not possible, a total of 50 miles and 35mph is the restriction. Transmission damage is probable.

Re: New 1995 RED Re-assemble

docjohn I thought the owner said it was a 95 maybe a 94 I may have posted wrong. its def a coupe LOL will find out though

as for towing it I know I know thats why i kept it at 45mph.

so I have lots to do, he wants the valve covers painted red. NSX-r hood installed, DF front fenders etc.
he already has adjustable sways, NSX-r braces, suspension is KONI I think. it also has a weird looking muffler system I have not seen this style before
working on getting it running first LOL

all fluids flushed and bleed where needed etc. lots to do. and only me
anyone wanna help? J/k:cool:

Re: New 1995 RED Re-assemble

First 9 greens were with black roof, the rest were body colored.

Shawn, the car you are currently working on is probably 1991-93 - it can not be 94+ unless the roof has been repainted.

..............you win!

Actually I think you're both lose here. If you read the Wiki, only the GREEN modeled 1994 cars had body colored roofs.

Therefore 1994 Red coupes had a BLACK roof.
(here are two classifieds of 1994 reds with black roofs)

What Shawn has is 1994 coupe. The key telling pieces are:
1) It has a black roof (1991-1994 coupes all had black roofs, except for the green 1994s).
2) The exhaust tips appear to be the updated round ones. The 1991-1993s had oval tips. (Edit, just read that he may have modified exhaust, so this doesn't apply)...
3) The wheels are the matte gray 7 spoke wheels (which were on the 1994-1996 cars).

The most certain way to find out though, would be to just lookup the VIN...

I'm going to put an end to this speculation about what year this car is. It's obviously a 2013 and Shawn has gotten his hand on a reskinned prototype. :D

This is a good one :).

The wheels are either 94-96 solaris silver or 97-01 refinished to solaris silver. If I recall correctly the exhaust was not changed untill 1995 but if the car was 1995 it would then be a targa. Please don't forget that wheels and exhaust are probably the 2 first things owners change.

1991 muffler part number: 18030-SL0-A00
1993 muffler part number: 18030-SL0-A00
1994 muffler part number: 18030-SL0-A00
1995 muffler part number: 18030-SL0-J00

Actually I think you are correct. The 1995 exhaust is when they changed the tips to the round ones.
Here's a 1994 with the original oval tips which were from 1991-1994.
I stand corrected..

Re: New 1995 RED Re-assemble

I might have missunderstood Brylek....but my point was that the green 94coupes had green roofs as the exception.I think honda felt the green/black combo would look a little weird.

From the looks of the tips and the above info, it's a Tubi exhaust.
