New NSX Just Burned To The Ground At The Nürburgring

First article above touts a suggested 0 to 100 kph time for the new NSX of "under 4.0 seconds". Link at the bottom of the page for Nismo GT-R with 0 to 100 kph (62 mph) in under 2.1 seconds, and regular GT-R does it in 2.7. No electric motors necessary. It will be interesting to see what a production ready NSX can do around the Ring in comparison to the GT-R. Too bad the Nissan looks like a brick though.

Under 4.0 sec is too vague, it could mean 3.9 sec or 2.9 or 0.1 seconds...all under 4 seconds:smile:

Comparing any car with the Godzilla for sheer acceleration is a waste of time. The Godzilla, and I have had two, is a tool purpose made for just that and little else.
Little exotic look or feel inside or out. Looks intimidating because you know it will beat 99.9 % of the cars in acceleration however.

The NSX, let us hope, will be more like a 458 or a GT3...more than just pure 0-60 or quarter mile, beautifully designed inside out and sexy to look at whether or not one knows about its performance figures.

It will be very disappointing if the new nsx will have around the same hp and torque and smaller and lighter than the gtr and doesn't at least equal lap times. Non nissan enthusiasts came out to buy the gtr because of the unreal numbers it but down for the price of under 90k. I'm pretty sure if the nsx doesn't top the gtr and cost above 130k only people that will really want one are nsx enthusiasts in which sales will be under 300 units per year.

Too bad the Nissan looks like a brick though.

And weighs like one too. The GTR is close to 4000 pounds. Even if the new NSX puts out identical power numbers, if it can weigh 300-350 pounds less, along with torque vectoring, using a V6 twin turbo setup like the GTR (plus electric motors), it should set some good numbers.

Hyper car (Porsche 918) numbers? Highly doubtful. You'd have to add another 200k to the price tag, and that's still uber cheap in comparison to a Porsche 918. But as fast as a Nismo GTR? I think so.
