I was trying to reorganize a few hundred thousand of my archived photos and realized that, to no surprise, many of them involved my NSX ownership for the past 9 years. We have often referred to ourselves in the Northeast as "family" but we need to include our "extended family" of owners and enthusiasts throughout the country. As we approach another NSXPO, I took a few moments to relive some of the memorable times we have had across the country.
These included police escorts, sometimes at triple digit speeds, on closed or restricted highways in Texas, California and Florida. We have also had the Father of the NSX, Shigeru Uehara, address us and even personally sign our cars. We did hot laps as passengers in Peter Cunningham's NSX to raise money for the Red Cross while we gathered in Wisconsin in 2001, weeks after 9/11. We celebrated the wedding of two of our members on Keuka Lake in New York in 2004 where 200+ of our members and guests were surprised to learn they would be attending the reception onboard only after they had arrived. We have driven on world renowned race tracks across the country and experienced firsthand what most are relegated to imagining while watching TV. And probably most importantly we have made good lifetime friends through the collective experience.
Many of us have also used the NSXPO experience to add a couple of days to travel around the local areas where we have watched a sunrise over the Grand Canyon, taken a sunset "cruise" and tour of Alcatraz, acted as overgrown kids at Disney, toured the Sonoma Vineyards and been bounced around in jeeps exploring the red rock country of Sedona.
So I figured I would post of few of these photos as our family gets ready to pack again and tour the Great Northwest where we hope for many more photo ops in the Portland area this September at NSXPO 2008. Hope to see many of you there.
