This is on an ACCUSATION alright!!!
But that vandalize job looks very suspicious... I mean whoever vandalized that NSX must have been very selective in which body parts to beat on... ie. all (4) fenders and the hood... when all the part next to it are all fine...ie, head light covers, trunk, sidevents, spoiler, and doors....
I am sorry for saying all these, but it is very eye bugging. Other than that I think that NSX will be very sexy...ohh about the paint, pick whatever color you like not because someone else likes to see.

damn, I didn't even think/notice that. It is very fishy, but I give him the benefit of a doubt. On the other hand, I don't mind someone taking advantage of an insurance company, they ass us out all the time.

That's some serious smack to be talking when you don't even know the person who's car it is. I don't know either of you, but how do you (96GoldNSX) know for sure that all four fenders were damaged. If only one side was damaged and JDMnsxR wanted to get a body kit, it only seems reasonable that he would get all four panels, right?

As for the color to paint the car, why not leave it Red and White like it is now? It'll be different! :D

Well, there is already another car with this kit in orange as pictured here:

JZs NSX is already in yellow, so I wouldn't choose that color either.

I was browsing through the picture gallery and thought that this kit in blue would look awesome.

Looking good .....Can't wait til you post pics of the finshed product..

Any ideas on how much longer it will take...?
And any report of catching these punks that did that to your car..?..

For color change....I have always been in love with Imola orange after seeing it on the NSX at a car show a few years back...

Hope everything goes great for you.......:)

Doc,
I believe in what I see (the 3rd picture down (with all 4 panels)) if you care to look again. I thought I clarified already about my observation... of course I can be wrong, but that's what I see. Agree or not, the owner of that car sure left me room to speculate. I didn't guess about the fact that all of the adjacent parts of the fenders didn't damage. As I stated, NO ACCUSATIONs intended.... just sore eyes.:)
I would take advantage of them insurance companies if I can too...:) but with attention to details...:)

wow. didn't intend on stirring up any sort of controversy over the body work being done. i can see how people may now questions whether or not the work being done could be fishy. i didn't get a chance to post ALL the pictures from the damages; but the car was pretty much hit on all sides. there's minor 'dings' and pinhead sized dents ALL over the body. headcovers, hood, ROOF, trunk lid included.

the people who know me, will know that the car was vandalized due to a unforunate incident at work; where a disgruntled co-worker decided to take it out on the COMPANY by vandalizing my car cause it was a 'sitting duck' for that person.

still to this day we do not have enough proof or evidence to pursue any sort of case against him. but again, working with over 12-15 close co-workers; we all speculate the same deal...

btw, because the car was used as a DAILY driver; after selling my project civic (links below); at first; with the car being vandalized; i had planned on fixing the car back to OEM as QUICKLY as possible as i needed aother car to drive around. it was only when a good friend of mine decided to lend me his RX7 that i now had the option to do the widebody setup.

i remeber posting on prime asking people to recommend different setups. some told me to keep it all OEM, some told me to do the oem PLUS WW kit (which i was going to); and SOME told me to go all out and widebody the sucker knowing that all the body panels would be replaced....

:D

sorry for rambling. i just felt the need to 'clarify' any suspicion in the air about this car. i'd hate to know that im posting on prime, participating in constructive comments, and also sharing my project while i may be deemed or seen as someone 'fishy'... with insurance damages on parts only totally approx $3000ish, you figure to draw up another $10-12k in parts to finish the widebody setup alone STILL takes someone with commitment to want to do it. (ie: body kit, CF parts, CF pillars, mirrors, wider rims, taitec center exit, diffuser, tow hook, 02 tails, taitec JGTC HID headlights, etc) and that's just the beginning....

but no offense taken, as i saw that the comments were made in light ways; without any true accusations being made.

NOW FOR THE GOOD STUFF: color choices...

- zanardi 0 - yes many people have told me to keep it red. but something about painting my whole car again; and to keep it the same color feels funny to me. don't get me wrong; i love red =)

- ORANGE - looks great. the neon orange car pictured above i BELIEVE is peter's car (owner of Downforce). he has the hood partially painted white now; and the car's paint scheme looks very close to SUPER AUTOBAC's JGTC nsx.

i LOVE HISHI's orange (lamborghini orange) but i know that a lot of other cars in the US have this custom color setup at shows, etc. but orange is definetly possibly an option.

- BLUE - want to stay away from it; cause a the friend who lent me the RX7 is also the owner of a BLUE widebody nsx.

- ? - and we have one MYSTERY color that im sure some will HATE some will LOVE; but i personally feel that to replicate that JGTC look; it'd be a great color. but i'll let you guys KNOW once we can get that color code (as it being a VERY limited production car out there - hint)

Not to be difficult, but I believe that your estimate of only $3,000 in damages is WAY off if all of those body panels were hit and needed replaced. Just a rear quarter panel for the NSX is $1,800. A front fender is another $1,000, and those prices are just for one panel alone with no paint or labor. So doing some quick math, you would have an estimated replacement cost on the OEM panels of about $5,600 in JUST PARTS for the OEM rear quarters and both front fenders. Then you figure in the repairs to the rest of the car and the estimate would be more around $8,000 at least and that is without replacing any other panels. Just curious, how did the $3,000 figure you quoted get calculated?

you're right. the TOTAL estimate was about: $7480 in parts alone. now i re-allocated some of the money from parts to other 'extra' work im having the body shop do for the nsx. for example: the 93 nsx uses a 2 stage paint, while most of the more recent color codes on all vehicles (at least the nicer ones) all stepped up to a 3 stage setup. the insurance will also only pay enough to paint it 2 stage; and ONLY the panels that were hit. painting my roof, door jambs, inner trunk, inner front hood area, and engine bay is ALL extra. so with all extra paint costs, labor, and other minor things im having the body shop fix; i was left with a total of approx. $3000 to play with in terms of BODY kits and other stuff that i would outsource. i hope this makes sense...

Who made these side skirts?

I think, if you have to paint the whole car...Than go with yellow....Best color for any sport car...exspeacially for show.but please NO big ASS wing.:D
