Please help, check engine light comes on when Vtech kicks in

Every time I drive the car and when Vtech kicks in, the check enging light comes on. I then goes back off if I restart the car. Has anyone ever had this problem? My car is a 1992 with a little over 15,000 miles. I would really appreciate any help.

After you restart the car and kick in VTEC again does the light come on again??? Or is it just when you first start it???

Pull the codes to interpret what set the light off, as noted in the you-know-what - see http://www.nsxprime.com/FAQ/DIY/trouble_codes.htm - and look them up in the service manual to see what to do next to diagnose the problem and determine what, if anything, to do about it.

Vacuum line? Spool valve? The diagnostic code will most likely point you in the right direction.

BTW, the diagnostic procedures for each of the codes are in the "Fuel and Emissions" section of the service manual. Don't ask me why...
