Post pics of your watches!

How many winders (rotators) do you have and what brands. Pics please.:smile:

I don't need any winders... my wife and cat sit at home and wind my watches while I'm away!

Seriously though, I'll only wear any particular watch maybe once every two months so it doesn't make sense to keep them all sitting on winders and wearing out their bearings. There are many discussions regarding wheter it's better to keep watches wound all the time versus letting them rest unwound. I think constant motion 24/365 is worse than the risk of oil hardening.

Besides only about half of them are automatic and I'd rather spend the money on more watches rather than the overpriced winders.

I have a few winders but they now sit in my closet... unwound.

i have the same citizen eco-drive :)

Any of the chronos, especially with grand or super complications (date, lunar, perpetual, etc.) will loose accuracy due to congealing of lubricants. I had a Daytona on a full service every 3 year schedule ($1100) that sat in the safe with only an occasional manual winding in addition to the automatic while wearing. The watch’s time accuracy suffered as well as some of the comps. This was proving to be costly. After using a Wolf winder for 3 years, the Rolex is still “right on”. My Omega, even though a chrono, never lost a beat and was never on a winder. You figure? ------ Rolex --great movement --- costly maintenance!

I guess that its a good thing that I don't buy Rolexes! I do wear my automatics at least one full day every 2 months and the accuracy has never been a problem.

This is going to sound like a DUMB question....BUT, Why would you buy so many watches that don't have any great resale value. I would think it would be smater to have a few Tag's, Omega's, IWC's, Pan's and Rolex's then to have 30 quartz watches with limited resale value. Just my 2 cents.

I do like the Seiko F1 racing watch though.

My collection ranges from Breitling and Omega to Arnette and Zodiac. I am an equal opportunity collector.

I don't buy them as investments. I buy them because I like the design or the mechanical aspects. Like buying an NSX...

You'd be surprised but the Zodiacs do have quite a following.

Dont' get me wrong- A watch is the only "Accessory" a man wears - So I personally understand. I was just wondering what made you decide to keep adding to your collection.

Btw, I have my eyes out for one of these right now:

Go for it!

I've got a 111.

(same watch, not my photo)

Although their popularity has exploded in recent years they are still not as ubiquitous as Rolex/Breitling/etc and there are TONS of aftermarket strap options out there.

My wife does not share my watch addiction and thinks I'm "metro" for constantly buying them... I now have been buying "man bracelets" that match my watches.

Finally got a chance to take some, good pics of the last watch in my old collection, a Minerva Pythagore with 17 jewels, manual wind, in-house movement. I had a Palladio model as well. Wish I kept it.

Nice Tissot! Those T-Touch watches are amazing!

Look who else wears a T-touch! I snapped these photos at the Grand Prix of St Petersburg a few years ago:

Thanks for the compliment and nice catch!

I'm not surprised that Danica Patrick is wearing it. I bet that girl has a lot of endorsements and there is a T-Touch NASCAR special. It's pretty nice looking but I'm not a big fan of NASCAR.

if I ever decide to get a different watch I would probably go for a Rado. I just love the idea of having a watch that will never scratch and will look new forever. I hate having to worry about my watch scrapping against a wall or things like that.

That's a nice World. Do you still have it and have you used the circular slide rule often? I had a Nav Heritage once. I used to convert dollars and euros until I got the iPhone. Did your world have the timezones engraved on the back?

Hundred thousand on the watch who said you cant buy time?

Anyone have a Blancpain? Surely someone in the community has a taste for fine watches.
Do you mean like the Le'man Tourbillon Grande Date? Limited to 50 pieces in platinum, Caliber 6925, 168 hour reserve, crocodile skin strap. Retails @ $93,900. Beautiful piece, but way out of my league, my friend!

Unfortunately I'm no "baller" like you people here sporting your Rolex/Omega/or better. However I do like sports watches and was just asking if anyone has the Mugen "Time Machine" Watch. Price isn't real bad from King Motorsports @ $430 w/o metal band and $470 with, but the watch is probably just a re-badged $200 watch from another manufacturer. If you can get it for a great price, please let me or the rest of the watch enthusiasts know.

Cheers!

JC

Btw, my wife bought me a great watch for my 40th B-day/Anniversary gift! Will post pics when I get home.
