Post pics of your watches!

Here's my old Panerai PAM 196. I've since traded it for a simpler PAM 111. Love these watches. I probably developed my taste in big watches from wearing G-shocks for years. I think I have over 15 G-shocks.

My current favourite G-shock:

Wanted something less curvy w/angles, buttons flush w/the contour and matches my GPW
Whole face lights up between the brushed metal bars–white corners, red face.
It has a sensor in it so that with the natural flick of the wrist to check the time, the light will automatically come on for a few seconds.
Had it for 2-3 years, WR 20 Bar (200M), love it.
Guys seem to comment on it more than gals, again...just like the NSX

Here's my humble little Seiko (SMA003 Kinetic Auto Relay). I love this watch. Very reliable and keeps perfect time.

Damn, you guys have some nice watches...I buy Fossil watches, three at a time. Wear them, then give them away to friends. Anyone ever buy knock off watches? My favorite watch that i have sen, is the one made out the Titanic ship hull. 20 to 60k....

Not to break thread (didn't think worthy of its own) these are very interesting, not to mention pricey.

Swiss Watchmaker Urwerk makes the UR-202 AlTiN starting at

Hi

Arg da** it you guys crack me up. I had to keep it low as the cleaning lady outside my office would think I am crazy.

I guess I should post a picture of my watch watching your watch, watching his watch, and so on..I guess I just post this imaginary watch watching all your watches

To keep it on topic I would like a watch with a blue dial. I will not go for anything fancy now as finances is a bit low. So I guess it is Timex again.

Regards

The SS Daytona is my goal. That is probably the most extreme extent I will go in this hobby as far as owning it, however, I still appreciate the any quality timepieces. When I saw the $35k AP up close in person a few days ago, the feel I get was same as the first time I saw NSX in person. Pure art form.

+1, you said it well. IMHO is it perfectly ok to find no value or appreciation in watches, but not everyone is the same.

Many car forums have a separate watch sections. You can usually wear a quality timepiece for little to nothing. They really do hold their value if you do your research and make wise purchasing choices. I sold two watches in the past, one I broke even, and the other I made profit.

I am shocked by some of the comments on this forum. For me the appreciation for watches is on the same level as cars. I don't have to own it to appreciate it. I only have 1 watch right now, but I can never get tired of checking watches at Jackroad, Quark everytime I visit Japan. It is odd to me that I can dump $30k in my NSX in just mods alone, buy a uncessarly beater car that I hardly drive as well just to prevent door dings on my nsx and no one would give me a hardtime about it. Which is bigger waste? For me neither have any impact in my fiances. Other than on the forum where I believed I can share my interest, outside of the forum, I don't chat or talk about the hobby, unless it is with someone with same interest or appreciation.

It is funny and sad that, a lot of people in my own culture will get really expensive gifts from family, yet they don't appreciate it, they take it for granted. People who find value in earning things on their own and turn down the gift are actually the ones who might appreciate the items the most. (Above is just my assumption based on what I have seen). I lived in 4 different countries in the past), every place is different. In USA, even people who live in different Cities, can have different view, different sub-culture. Difference is good, it make people unique, otherwise the world would be a boring place.

My only watch at the moment, not too bling, usually go unnoticed just the way I like it:

Good for you, that is a fantastic watch, you will feel it the moment you handed the watch. I really regret of selling it.

What model rolex is that? how old of model?

What model rolex is that? how old of model?
The model number 116200 the new datejust with jubliee dial.

The model year is 2006, I purchased this watch new in person two year ago at one of the largest Rolex dealer in Japan "Jackroad". The deal was great due to very favorable YEN-USD rate at the time, tax free, plus additional 5% off by paying with cash.

This place has the best price available on line:
http://www.swissluxury.com/

It is an relatively inexpensive watch, I have own a lot of watches in my time, but to me this particular watch is probably the most meaningful one as I had always wanted one since I was 16. I can get most of anything I want by just asking, but it is not my style. It took me almost 10 years to justify getting it. I had window shopped so many times back then, it is not even funny. The little motivation back then had helped me a lot.

Time to bump this thread. My newest member to the Breitling family: Chronomat BO1, first Breitling with in-house movements. The standard bezel is pretty weird with some odd font numbers so I chose to cover them up with some diamonds.

nice bling on the Breitling. Least the diamonds aren't small like grains of sand on some watches.
Did you keep the original bezel?
Wear in good health.

Wear in good health.

You are actually the 3rd person to say that to me. Is it really that much of a magnet for thuggery? Wow, well I guess this will see the light of day about once a year. :frown:

The bezel is actually from the factory and cost just as much as the watch itself. Normally I'm not one for that much bling but have you seen the crazy font for the numbers on the standard bezel? It's uhhh.... well let's just say it has gotten very mixed reviews. Here, you can see for yourself and make up your own opinon.
