Rookie question: service manual says to replace self locking nuts after removal. I'm removing shocks to install eibachs. Do I really need to replace the locking nuts after only one removal?

I've re-used them countless times on various cars including my NSX without seeing one come loose. I suspect it's a safety/liability thing to instruct you to replace them. If you're concerned, you could add a drop of light strength Locktite or equivalent.

I agree with sjs, with the exception of the sway bar nuts. I have heard of them coming loose at the track!!!!! (Obviously very bad) But the top nuts for the shocks can be reused IMO.
