stock air intake or HKS intake?

I have a 1995 nsx with a DC exhaust. It has a HKS Mushroom Intake thingy on it. I had a K&N intake on my 1991 NSX and it was okay but some people said that the factory airbox is better then aftermarket intakes. Is this true?
Also does anyone ever buy factory exhausts? I have a factory 1995 exhust but I don't know if it is worth selling or take it to the scrap metal place?
thanks,
Kenny

HKS mushroom intake will make your throttle body dirty very quickly. I have one on and have to clean the t-body almost once a month now. The stock air cleaner is on the way.

Any dyno comparisons to prove that the oem is better than aftermarket (HKS, Blitz, Apexi etc...), or vice-versa?

Do a search. There was an air comparison serveral years ago. It concluded that the the stock air box was very well designed and provided the best power. Any air filter in the engine w/o some heat protection would loose power. The only benefit to an after market filter is the noise. Which is nice

Would your statement conclude that Cantrell intake is the best?

Maybe use Cantrell AIS plus bigger throttle body and stock air filter box for heat shielding could provide more power and at the same time preventing hot engine air from going into the engine back. Think of long term effect of having unshielded air filter to the engine.

Well, the Cantrell is just another (better means) for air to enter the airbox. I was speaking of the airbox itself. I have a cantrell on my car and love it. But it sucks air from the stock airbox for now.
