Switch inside NSXT engine cover.

I tried removing my engine cover today. Saw a switch inside the pocket where the T-Top is stored. Can anyone please explain what that is and is it safe to remove the wire from it?

That switch operates a light on the dash that shows the targa too is properly stored. When I deleted my engine cover, I believe that I shorted the wires to extinguish the light
