Taitec GTLW vs GT One v5.1

GT One FTMFW...the sound was pure sex...

could somebody give me $4000 for services so I can myself a GT-ONE F1 v5.1?

Thanks

Tat

wow - awesome video..... first time i feel like i got a decent rendition of what the v5.1 actually sounds like. i was never really impressed before, but wow :eek:

surprisingly, it has a sound (slightly) reminiscent of the F50 GT

(ofc, not quite that good :wink: )
just friggen loud and raw with a pure, piercing noise mixed in there :smile:

also, your video is very consistent. you shift into third at like the exact same spot in relation to the camera. :cool:

you wouldn't be interested in adding tubi onto this video, would you? :wink:
i'm going to have a tough decision to make when i get some money for an exhaust.... (tubi vs. v5.1) hopefully i'll get to hear them both in person before the time comes.

any tunnel runs? :biggrin:

Awesome video! I got confirmation my GTLW will be in by next week, but the GT one sounds totally better in regards to pitch and volume. I'll have to get the gt one later on.

Thanks for that.....it helps me to find the 'right' exhaust.
I do like the GT lightweight sound.

Whats the weight difference of GTlight and GT one?

I'll respond to questions as soon as I can. I am on the other side of the world with limited internet access.

I'm glad the video helps.

FYI my GTLW is for sale.

I honestly think that GT-One and GTLW are mismatch.
GT-One would definitly wins on sound quality, but then look at the price...:)
GTLW is for the budgeted minded that likes the throaty sound because you can't get that with anything else out there at that price. Comptech is over-rated anyway.
GT-One v5.1 have to compare with ARC for the sake of comparision.

Thanks for the post! Your car sounds very similar to mine, it should as we are both running the Autorotor supercharger and almost the same exhaust. Listen to your video and mine back to back... the only difference we have is the header. Do you hear much difference?

I like the sound better on the GT One also (nice clips!) but that was only one of the criteria I had for choosing an exhaust.

GT One v5.1 = GTLW +

Huh? Where did you get that idea from (or perhaps you're exaggerating)?. I was at a local performance shop and the owner pulled out a scale to weigh the GTLW vs the titanium version of the GT-One 5.1 and the difference in weight was ~4lbs (GTLW was 18lbs vs 14lbs for the GT-One). I'd guess that the SS version of the 5.1 must be even closer in weight to the GTLW than the Ti is... maybe even heavier.

So how much does the SS weight? The fact that the GTLW is not titanium and weights so close to the GT1 in Titanium is a testiment of it's figure.

I believe he's using the dumbell to illustrate that the GT ONE is better in terms of sound than the GTLW. It's not to be taken literally.

Doesn't that "WHoooooo" sound get annoying after driving around for a while? :wink:

GTOne F1 Series v5.1 exhaust:
SS = 29.7 lbs
Ti = 17.8 lbs

Taitec GTLW exhaust
SS = 16.1 lbs

Taitec S-TAI racing exhaust
9.2 lbs

I personally love my GTLW. I love refined deep larger displacement sound it gives. It has such a nice rumble. :biggrin: The GT One v5.1 sounds nice as well but i guess it's pretty comes down to a matter of taste. Plus on the performance end of things it is lighter which means faster in the real world! hehe :wink:

Anyone running GT one V5.1 with cats?

I am running w/ cats and ct headers. I believe my has more metallic grunt due to the headers.

GT One hands down! How does this compare to the Gruppe M SS? My buddy and I installed this exhasust on his 91 NSX, along with DC headers (took 2 weeks lol) and that thing sounded insane! If I'm not mistaken, doesn't this exhaust delete the cats? Anyhow, hopefully there are some comparisons between the GT one and Gruppe M and if not, I would definitely like to hear some feedback from your personal experiences. TIA

Tubi / OEM Header (2000)/ No cats
