My left rear outer tie rod needs replaced. That being said which brand should I purchase? How many are on a 91 nsx? Should I replace all of them? Any part numbers? Anything will help thanks!

They are only two on the rear (left and right) and they're called Toe Links. They're comprised of several parts including a link that attaches to the cross frame and the other end which is a ball joint that connects to the lower arm. The ball joint is what usually wears out. The individual parts are available from Acura https://www.acurapartsforless.com/a...manual-engine/chassis-cat/rear-lower-arm-scat . The primary parts are #21 & #20 in the diagram.
You have also have the option of buying new aftermarket brand such as the ones that Carbon 6 make http://www.carbon6composites.com/product_info.php/cPath/21/products_id/45

You have to determine which part is worn and then decide on what you want to spend for repairs.

I have the Carbon 6 toe links. Much easier to adjust than the OEM version.

Got ya. The shop that inspected my car said I needed "left rear outer tie rods" replaced. The correct name for it is toe links?

Toe Links or Toe Control Arm. Here is a picture (outer link circled in yellow). Part number for the outer piece is 52340-SL0-000. $173.60 @ www.acurapartsforless.com There is a 5% discount code (5NSX) you can use.

Chances are if one is worn the other side is probably not far behind. Carbon 6 Toe Links are here: http://www.carbon6composites.com/product_info.php/cPath/21/products_id/45. They replace the entire Toe Control Arm. Price is for a matched pair. You will need an alignment after replacement.

Thank you! Gonna order me the Carbon 6 tonight. Anything else I should replace before I get an alignment?

Pretty sure the lower control arms will have to be removed to replace the ball joints ($$$). You might as well do all of it and get it over with. Those lower ball joints will only get worse. I have to imagine given these issues your car must handle like crap.

Carbon 6 only offers ball joints if they install them. Any idea on how this works when we're out of state?

The lower ball joints (rear) are located on the rear hub carrier (knuckle). After reviewing the service manual I don't see a procedure for replacing the ball joint. Looking at the parts catalog I don't see a ball joint listed as an individual part so I am assuming the process to replace it is beyond the ability of the average owner and hence why Carbon 6 won't sell them as loose parts. I am assuming Carbon 6 has a machining process to remove the old ball joint without damaging the carrier. Likely the machining will result in a slightly larger hole and their ball joint is sized to fit that enlarged hole. Just a guess on my part. Perhaps you should call them and discuss.

Worse case you would need to have your local shop remove the carrier(s) and ship it to Carbon 6. Probably be down for a couple of weeks while the repair is underway.
