What did YOU pay for your NSX? (and when?)

Holly cow I overpaid. Bought May 2013, 1996 T, 54000 miles, blk/blk, manual, all stock, clean carfax (and a mechanic confirmed it's all original)... I was not provided with extensive service records, just a few receipts for things like tires, oil changes, O2 sensors, and a forged/faked TB/WP receipt (long story)..... And I paid a whopping $41k!

I wish I could at least say the body is immaculate, but unfortunately the body has tons of "minor cosmetic" flaws: millions of rock chips, even a bird poo spot etched into the hood the size of a 50 cent piece, a buffer burn-mark on the B pillar, couple little etched spots on the roof and trunk lid, 3 or 4 little scratches that were attempted to be touched-up with a dealer pen (making it look worse), wheels a little rough, rear tails retain moisture, the weatherstrip for the targa roof right behind your head is ripped and torn and that's an expensive piece!

The CCU was faulty so I had Brian K repair
One window regular was faulty so I had Window Motor World repair
And it's currently in the shop getting the TB/WP job completed, which I was told WAS completed (but wasn't)
I didn't get the spare tire, the jack kit, the cup holder, the targa button hook thingy to hold the lid open... the glass hatch struts were dead, the trunk struts were dead.

But on the bright side, I REALLY wanted an NSX for 15 years, and I NEEDED blk/blk, targa, manual, lower miles.... so I guess I was "satisfied". (I would have been happier if the body was a bit cleaner... or if the TB/WP was actually completed)
There were dozens of red ones available in the mid 30's but I definitely didn't want red at all.

I just bought a 1998 NSX-T with 79,500 miles for 40K. Black/tan. Bought it on NSX prime! Car was immaculate, major services all done. I put on 2 back tires, and cruise control doesn't work. It had 18/19 wheels which were upgrades, CD changer, all stock. Amazing car, it is the best car I have ever owned, and it is the 68th car I've had. Some purists think the early models are more collectible. I disagree. In 1997 you got a better motor, targa top, 6 speed, and some other goodies. Also, they made 245 1998 models, as opposed to over 3,100 1991 models. Anything made 1997 and later will have about 166 to 280 units made a year, only an average of 6 in each state. That is rare. Nobody seems to know what my car is when I fill it up. I haven't seen one one the road in a year, and I live in Austin, 11th largest city in the U.S.

Bought '91 bone stock Sebring silver with 40,000 miles in 2002 for $32,500. I have a 120,000 fun miles on it now and would not sell it for what I paid for it 12 years ago. It is simply worth more to me.

My very first nsx: 1993 with 79k miles $19500. (1999) I got it cheap cause the owner ex girlfriend keyed the whole car and a few dents here n there. I fixed her up and drove it for 6 months then resold her for $28500.

My second nsx: 1991 automatic with 167k miles $12500. On ebay. (2010) sold it a year later for $16500

my third nsx: 1996 5speed with 21k miles $33000 Family friend (2011) drove it for a few months then sold it for $41000

my fourth nsx: 1996 automatic with 95k miles $21500. (2012) sold it to my brother in law for $20000 after putting 9k miles on it.

My fifth nsx. 1992 5speed with 109k miles $23000. (2013) Still have it.

my wife nsx: 1996 automatic with 52k miles $39000. Just bought it June 2014

now I'm in the market for an 02+. Can't find those under $50k.

How much work (time & money) did you put into NSXs 1-4?

So cool you've had so many!

Same thing, bought my first one 11 years ago....on my third one now....never sold one for less then I paid for them after driving them 2-3 years....

Btw, all those NSX in 15 years and you just now joined nsxprime????

Welcome....now please post pics of your NSX and your ex's or this story is bogus:wink::tongue:

He could have been like me and never got around to joining Prime. It took me a couple of years to join.

And he'll never find a mint low miles 02+ under $50k, heck maybe not even under $60 with the way it's climbing!

The reason why I delayed joining prime all these cause there are always haters (91 x) or someone bad mouthing.
I been monitoring prime for years and found it very helpful, even went to the nsxpo in Vegas 2010. I don't need to prove jack to anyone...

$49,445 in 1993 - included aftermarket wheels (as well as stock) tax, license, and extended warranty good through 7/98. It came with ALL available options (keyless entry, phone, CD changer and matched luggage).

EDIT: Original owner paid $90+... just one of the reasons I waited for the crazy period to go away.

oh, I tried. It was 10 miles away from me. I left work early to go see it, it was sold by the time I reached.

That's actually good news, because the deal you eventually do find will be better than the one that got away. Maybe I've just been lucky but each time a great deal slipped thru my grip or was taken from me, a much superior one appeared 6 months to a year later, be it a house, an elusive yeti NSX, or a 5'3" brunette. Yours will find you, grasshopper!

The second one was from a dealer I remember. A guy on here bought it.

The third one doesn't ring a bell. Do you have a link?

I think so too!
