Where are all the Production deliveries ??

So basically, one car a day. Not even close to the 8 to 10 they were hoping for. At this rate they won't even be able to build the 800 for the US market, let alone the 800 for the rest of the world.

I will try to get an update tomorrow afternoon about the number of cars built.

The rough estimate from the last few weeks is a sorry ass 10 cars per week.

Our guy in MA is going to have his car tomorrow.

It is happening but at a disappointing pace.

I see myself taking delivery with the Pirelli snow tires.

must be tough for some of you guys with deposits and the means to pay...and Honda telling you in very cryptic terms that you are not special snowflakes...

I would chalk it up to them just not being a professional marketing organization.

I do not feel personally slighted.

Plus I am am info junky so not having a clear understanding as to when I will have a second car that I currently do not have a garage for, and hoping it comes in after I am able to close on an apartment building that I have been trying to get re-zoned since last September is just part of life's big adventure (so the bank does not freak out).

I hope that from all of this that they learn that with modern technology there is no such thing as keeping everything secret.

If a bunch of people on the internet are going to spill everything they learn, they might as well just be more transparent.

I mean, what looks worse? A press release that some low allotment numbers were diverted or consumers exposing that they were blindsided on the forums?

They will never state in a press release that they gave your car to someone else.

The fun stuff will be to try to find out who they gave your wicked awesome speced car to?

Did the dealer end up with 2 different build sheets in the mail (one one you were supposed to get and the one you are getting)?

Remember, after you pick up the car, a stop at Boston Landing for pics, lunch at Pizzeria Regina's in Allston, then Ice Cream at JP Licks on Harvard St in Brookline. If pastry is your thing over Ice Cream, then Athan's on Washington St in Brighton or Beacon St in Brookline.

It would also be fun to pull into the service department at Herb Chamber's Honda on Comm Ave and see the faces on the service writers.

Today's update
no production news, that should be available next Wed
not able to confirm if Michael Dell got one. Current celeb list being Hendrick, Leno, Seinfeld and Rahal
does not believe the lovely blue car for MA was diverted, the car may just been parked in the warehouse for a long time and noted that the vin and chassis numbers do not line up because some chassis are going ex US
info on the tours is delayed (standard for all things NSX) until mid Aug to end of Sep (setting up the plant for folks walking around while work is being done is more complicated than originally thought)
reworking build orders to favor real customers is more complicated than it seems, the 011 car was ordered by someone who is not a leader principal and okec the car sitting on the floor (my guess I'd this is a shell buyer)
with 23 cars sold in the US to date and pretty much nothing being seen in the wild, he believes the early cars are going to collectors and will be destined to be garage queens

Anyone taking delivery of the first new NSX in your state make sure to get your car's data to the registry ASAP.

I am running into a problem today with the registry and there being no way to register my car which is also spilling over into the insurance agent having a hell of a time trying to insure the car.

This may or may not get resolved today, fingers crossed.

At this moment the RMV is saying that they cant register the car without info from the insurance company and of course the insurance company is telling me the same thing in reverse.

For folks unfamiliar with the State of MA RMV, they hire folks who delight in saying no

in the old days, I would take the paperwork myself and I would see a large percentage of the folks in front of me having their paperwork rejected for x or y. When I registered my 86 Accord I recall to this day the guy trying to find something wrong or missing and upon defeat, he looked up to me and grunted and then stamped the form

in IL I went in to transfer my registration and the guy calls me to the counter. I tell him I am still filling in the form and he says that he would do that for me

these days the dealer does the registration stuff on site so some of the adventure is lost

regarding insurance, all I thought they need is the vin number

what is the problem at the registry?

I received a call this morning from the dealership that my car is in transit and should arrive late this week or early next week.

No Vin # or Chassis ID given as yet.

I was at the PMC tour on July 22nd with the NSX Club of Canada. Must have missed the car being built by a few days or it was already built and awaiting transport?

So how are you coordinating this?
Did you head into Brighton today with another family member or are you going to have the car delivered to your home on a truck?

What Canadian city are you in? I'm in Toronto and the dealer said I should have one of the first car in Canada. In fact, Honda Canada sent an email two weeks ago asking me for info because of that. But I've no word of delivery yet.. Arghh.. Congrats on your delivery though ☺

Wife and I would have headed down in our Sequoia, she is afraid to drive the RS7. Tomorrow is the Bass Pro show so I will just stay down for that after I pick up the car. There is another meet after as well that I will likely hit, lots of super cars show up to that one.

Congrats Johnny, call me when you are picking up the car....it's a pity that you did not get to see your car being built.

I guess your little chat with Clemont in Ohio, may have sped up things....NSXCC membership does have benefits!

A scenic cruise to Foxboro

If you are hungry for sushi before you go, Oishi in Chestnut Hill cannot be beat

People up here getting upset with Honda's "fumblings" while the bureaucracy of insurance and registration has always been even worst. The car has technically rolled out so fast that the third parties have not even caught up yet.

It's interesting to see the convergence that is caused on a specialist forum like this as I imagine all first time buyers for a completely brand new vehicle will have various obstacles as the new NSX has seen if not worst...

I'm in Brampton, Ont. I placed my order on Feb 24th and the initial production date I was given was May 26th and then it changed a number of times.

From What Clement told us during the factory tour a few Canadian cars were shipped in mid July. Maybe they are waiting to be sent to the dealers or Acura Canada is holding on to them for some sort of a press release event. I have been told that Acura Canada will be contacting me for a media event.

Thanks Bram,

Appreciate all the help you have provided. Once I receive the call from Carmen I'll let you know. He wants to do an event at the dealership. Maybe we should get the NSXCC members involved.

And yes the NSXCC has the best connections and events out of all the car clubs that I have been a part of.
