Mostly 2017’s for sale and I realize the first year represents the highest number of deliveries but still perplexing to me. I have owned quite a few sports cars / super cars and the NSX is better that all. Actually pretty close to my LFA which I have had for 7 years and is my benchmark. The NSX is a phenomenal car in all respects and it is as daily usable as any Porsche, but looks like a supercar.

Probably small sample size/ fickle nature of the typical owner/since discontinued some potential shoppers may be put off feeling lack of service/support....

Agree. I think the NC1 was priced in a way that boxed out many of the Gen1 enthusiasts and captured more of the hyper-exotic crowd. That's good for brand identity (I suppose), but the hyper-car crowd only stays in a vehicle for a year or two and then moves on to the next trophy. Those folks just aren't loyal to the brand and don't really care about the NSX- it's just a new toy that gets old and then they move on. Thankfully, I see a lot of NC1s moving into true NSX enthusiast hands as the second owner, which is something that many on this forum predicted. I keep trying to convince Mrs. Honcho to pull the trigger on a 2017, but she's still a no. :)

Another theory I have is that many new Type S owners previously also owned NC1 NSXs. So, when they finally got their Type S delivered, they had to sell their previous NC1 NSXs.

*Raises hand* I've got my eyes on a couple of these used 2017s, in the $130s. It's SO tempting. This NSX enthusiast here would be keeping his NA2.

I think there's room for those to drop into the 110s, assuming the recession hits in Q1 or Q2...

There were 89 Gen 2 NSX cars on CarGurus
If you pull out about 10 22s you have about 2.5% of US cars for sale
And then some are modded or salvage titles so 75 cars worth talking about

A good chunk of those are pushing their luck on price , one has about 50k miles so you end up with under 30 cars, so 1% of production (US cars)

LFA, about 174 came to the US, a small bunch crashed or exported so estimate 160 cars here
4 currently for sale which is over 2% of the pool

Personal opinion
Having both driven and ridden in the LFA it is flat out a more special toy
The Gen 2 NSX is probably more confidence inspiring in turns because of the AWD
LFA engine and sound is on a higher level plus the car is highly handmade, mostly out of CF

I think there will be opportunity for price appreciation in the Gen 2 NSX but the timeframe is a total crap shoot

It all hinges on whether Drmanny keeps the yellow seatbelts... :p

Agree with everyone above said. I mostly think people are trying to cash out while the car market still relatively strong compared to pre-pandemic pricing.

research what the changes are and see if the price difference is material for you. If you get a 17/18 getting better tires goes along way...also If you had to have a yellow than 19 and up only..

I have talked to someone who has driven all versions of NC1 and with better tires the 17/18 will be fine..

There are several exotic cars for sale now. Not just the NC1. Market has clearly flipped in the last 3-6 months. I think more pain (if you're a seller) is to come next year. I'm holding onto some dry powder to deploy. Unsure yet what to pick up. The Rivian I have coming in is a 3 sec 0-60 g'damn pickup truck. So I will want something totally different even at the sake of outright straightline speed.

I agree that everything in the world is cyclical. from fashion to home design to cars etc.. I like most have been a loyalist to the nsx ownership ..I feel I purchased what I wanted when I wanted with no intention of an investment for future gain.. just the love of the vehicles and always wanted one.. owning a 93 gpw from early 2000's with 40k on clock and unmolested was a few years search and purchased a casino white pearl 17' nc1 (202k) build in summer 18 for under 140k with 4k on clock I think both were purchased fairly and regardless of how market turns I should be ok if ever wanted to sell either.. for now they are stored away in garage for the winter here in north east .. next maybe if prices adjust would be a casino white type s ... did not want to pay over sticker and was treated unfairly by local dealerships looking too cash in..
