I was just wondering how much exclusivity played a part in the lure of wanting/having a NSX? For that matter I wonder how that applies to other exotics? Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, etc. I have always liked a car because I just liked it, but I will admit that exclusivity adds to it. All the cars I have owned or wanted were/are no longer produced. Fiero GT, Alfa Spyder (Rear wheel drive), last Gen. RX-7 TT. There is something about knowing that there will not be a newer, better model. I think that has always been why I have shy'd away from Vettes.
I have also noticed how different drivers react if you have the same car they have.
1) Miata owners seem to really enjoy that you have a miata too. Sorta like "Glad you joined the group/cult."
2) Vette owners don't seem to mind either if: a-You have a different year model that can easily be seen or b- if you do have the same year model its ok as long as it's not the same color or model style.
3) Viper owners- If you see 2 at the same time you're probably at a Viper event.
4) RX-7-- owners will race each other but be friendly about it.
5) Supra TT-- same as the RX-7 but not friendly about it.
6) Z owners--can't say
7)NSX owners- see viper.
8)Porsche owners- they have a class system. Will notice each other as Porsche owners but will only socialize with like Porsche models/price range. I've never seen a 911 turbo owner aknowledge a 914 driver.
9) 3000GT owners- Don't even notice each other. Maybe because there is such a big difference between the 3000GT models.
