    NSX in EVO magazine

The Blue NSX in the Evo article was bought along by Honda UK to the UK Beaulieu NSX meet (9 cars, pretty good turn out considering how few cars are in the UK). It's a truly incredible blue... just amazing to look at stationary or on the move. Got a lot of attention Hugo

    The Horror! Door scratch!

On a semi-related note, I managed to scratch the rear wheelarch of my NSX against the door of my '02 Civic Type R (yes, I was kicking myself... noone to blame but me!) Any suggestions for making the scratches less noticable? The NSX appears to have come off better, in that they're less...

who names their cars? and what? and why?

I think the generic "p-extension" cars are those with huge long hoods - we're talking Viper and Z3 here. The NSX has a rather pert front end, and a gorgeous swoopy back end - doesn't really fit the stereotype. Then again, my ex had a black Z3 and an ego to match the size of her hood... I guess...

Audio Sneak Peek! (Who said the NSX can't be custom?)

Apart from MP3 being better than you probably think it is (especially at high bitrates through actual audio grade circuitry and not through a crap PC soundcard), the Riocar will also play uncompressed WAV files. Hugo (who co-designed the empeg/riocar hardware)

who names their cars? and what? and why?

My ex named my '98 3.2 "Growler". Seems rather apt Of course, she also said it was a penis extension, but that didn't stop her driving it and getting great looks from men she pulled up alongside! Hugo

    NSX EMPEG/RioCar Owners...

Hi Jonathan There are pics of *some* of the install (got to wait for nice weather until I take some more, it's too cold to get the camera out atm!) on www.riocar.org in the installs gallery. Not happy with the sound yet, need a decent sub; the Dali one is no good for RHD cars SoS were...

Looking for a battery tender for winter

Will this work? My lighter socket isn't powered unless the ignition is on (at least to "I"). If it's not active, then you can't charge via that connection point. Hugo

    It's official(ly a prototype)

I've driven one of the new civics (not a Type R though ) as a loaner when my NSX was being serviced - they're actually made in the UK in Honda's Swindon plant. The shifter looks strange but the position and feel is great - it's pretty short throw and it's *much* closer to the steering wheel...

Down with the New NSX Headlights

Pop-up headlights, at least in europe, are being outlawed for pedestrian safety reasons - they make more of a mess of a pedestrian's legs. The sharp edges really don't help here. Actually, there's a huge amount of pedestrian safety features that look like they will become EU law - I've even...

    Prayers

bill: My point was not that the USA funds terrorism - just that the people it supported at one time have since turned and dangerous people can bite. The UK is guilty of this too - our arms companies have supplied many dictatorships which have since fallen out of favour (iraq, for example). The...

    Prayers

bill: I'm not painting the UK as some unblemished power; a lot of what happened in the past (colonialism) wasn't exactly justifiable - even if the rest of europe was at it too, to some degree. Kings & Mistresses are completely irrelevant. Yes, Kings, as people in power, did dodgy things - as...

    Prayers

It should be noted that Osama Bin Laden was funded by the USA, and according to reports, trained by the CIA. See: http://news.bbc.co.uk/low/english/world/south_asia/newsid_155000/155236.stm Back a while when the US wanted someone to stop the russians in Afghanistan, they funded Osama Bin...

    MP3 on factory head unit.

I've got a Rio-car mounted in my NSX dash; I'll try and post a picture or two in the next week or so. As the co-founder of empeg I really needed to have one in my car, but the dash surgery worked well. All I need now is a decent sub - unfortunately, the Dali one is for the right-hand footwell...

    telephone tweak

I had an attempt on my nokia, this still looks quite close to the original but with no greyscales. If anyone wants it, email me ([email protected]) with your full phone number and I'll SMS it. SMS does definitely work to the USA (Pacbell, Voicestream, etc I know work as I roam on them when in...

    WASSSSAPPPPPP

Good advice, the miata is a great car and you can mod it a lot if you get bored with a stock one (I still have my miata from when I was 19 (I'm 30 now), lowered/stiffened/turbo, and it's still great fun to drive, especially on the edge - something which is a bit harder to get to in the nsx on...

Sound system problems and possible solutions....

Pah, 700 minutes? I've got 20,000 minutes in my NSX... a 20GB rio-car (www.riohome.com). Some people have upgraded theirs to 96GB units, which is over 2 months of music without repeating, 24 hours a day Hugo (ok, ok, so I was involved in designing it. It's still cool...)

Reasons why the NSX is timeless...

My gf loves the NSX (especially when she's driving it)... I did have a Max Power (tacky car magazine) babe very impressed with the NSX... go to www.photopoint.com and look in my NSX album ([email protected]) for a pic Hugo

Rising fuel cost: How will this affect the way the NSX is driven

Hey, petrol is $4.23/US gallon over here (about 80p/litre) and it doesn't have much of an effect on how much people drive. Petrol is, IMHO, criminally cheap in the USA - it should be taxed to reflect the damage it does to the environment - but this tax money should go into public transport, and...

    NSX for rent... ?

You *may* find that the Acura warranty specifically excludes use for hire; this is quite common in exclusion lists. You will need special rental insurance, which may be hard to arrange especially on sportscars - mainly because people who have no experience with a powerful RWD car will rent it...

    Jealousy

www.toade.com - look for the "Toad eye" (mentions it but doesn't give any details - bad website!). It's a digital camera which takes pics when the alarm is going off & stores them in a "black box". You then hook up your laptop and download the pics of the perp Hugo

    Looking for Popular NSX Picture

Looking at the plates (UK plates!), the red car is a 93/94 (L reg) and the black is a 96/97 (P reg)... not sure if black was ever a UK colour, I suspect it might be dark metallic grey. Hugo (being a trainspotter)

For all the 91-93 black NSX owners....

Any idea where I can get Zaino stuff in the UK (or alternatively, a US supplier which takes credit cards and will ship to the UK) ? I've tried a few web searches and looking around but can't seem to find anyone... Thanks, Hugo

    Open-top NSX before '95 model?

Getting a Miata to keep your NSX company isn't a bad idea - I have both a '90 BBR Turbo Miata (actually, a MX5 - the UK name for the Miata) and a '98 NSX-T. I find the T-off experience ok, but it's nowhere near as good as hood-down in a convertible if you're looking to be blown about a bit and...
