Michigan check-in & spotting by blodi pt.2

Spotted.....my wife has seen a black pre-02 twice in the last couple weeks heading north on middle belt. Anyone?

Was it a Targa?

I wonder if the rather needy '96 that International Motors had FS ever found a home?

Brian

Ryan, are you saying that Bree does not have the requisite experience to shout out the year in question? LOL. I'm going to have to rat you out to her.
Best,
Jeff

To our Michigan friends:

The Concours d'Elegance of America Car Selection Committee has announced the class list for 2014. In addition to the traditional pre-and post-war classes, 2014 Concours will feature displays celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Lamborghini, "Famous Firsts" (cars that introduced innovative new features), Pre-1916 motorcycles, Drag Bikes, a Retrospective of Designer Virgil Exner, The Evolution of the Sports Car 1900 to 1975, Ford GT40 50th anniversary, and a Super Cars display.

The date is July 27th.... mark it down! Once again it looks like a great event.

With the purple 'parts' car being down so long, I decided to replace the lower rear balljoints (they felt good but the boots were cracked).
There is only one person I could find that provides this service, a machine shop owner in CA called Steve Ghent (SMGNSX on Prime).
He has the balljoints custom made, and can replace any on the car so many thanks to Steve for stepping up for us.

Just got the rear uprights with the new lower balljoints installed back, and they look fantastic.

You're getting close to a full restoration of that car Brian.
Yeah, this is quite a bit more "while you're in there" type stuff than I ever intended, but who knew an engine refresh would take 8 Months (and counting) ?

Hello Michiganders,
I'm not a NSX owner (unfortunately) but I work in Southfield and travel Telegraph everyday. I pretty consistently see a blue NSX lowered with white wheels. If that's you I just want you to know I love your car. I drive a blue 03 RSX mostly and every once in awhile (like today) I bring my 04 WRX down to work. I usually see you turning into the gym just north of Square lake in the AM and have to remind myself to keep my eyes on the road and not on your car. I saw it parked under the lights this morning and almost pulled in to take a few pictures of it. The light and the wet black top made your car stand out even more.

Hope to be a fellow owner one day but until then Ill make sure not to get my drool on your car.

Welcome Danny, I hope you can join us as an owner in the future!

Could it be WingZ's car you're seeing, I wonder?

Brian

Well if you don't mind a base RSX or a WRX tagging along I wouldn't mind meeting up with you guys in the spring.

Keep watching this thread for when we do get together. We def don't mind other enthusiast's tagging along. Heck, there usually is an open passenger seat somewhere among us as well ;)

Not a problem...

 That would be awesome

Times like this is when I hate living near Flint, always an hour drive to meet up with car groups.

Welcome Danny. Drive time is special, and all what we make it. I was in Flint Weds. Warp speeds on I-69/US23/75/475 (or is it 675 on e side of Flint?). A nice big jet at Bishop fixing to leave outta there E to W when I came SB on I-75.

Winter paint and upgrades

Hi all; long time no see - is CJ's on Wednesdays still popular?
I'm afraid I've had to deal with some health issues this year which laid me up for a while, and I've not been able to make much progress on my jobs list as a result.
Glad to say I'm recovering well, but the more strenuous jobs are not on at present.
As you'll see if you follow the link below, the paintwork on my '91 looks pretty good from a few feet away, but close up, there's a few small dents, the roof is ratty and there's several areas where there's overspray and the finish is rough. I was planning to get the car re-painted this winter anyway, got a few (expensive) quotes, then thought I'd drop Shawn (Geary) a PM. You may have seen his build threads on Prime, most recently the one where he gutted a red '92 and painted it inside and out, turning it into an immaculate Imola Orange specimen. Anyway, long story short - after lots of emails and a few long phone calls, my car left Canton on Friday at 11.00 am on a transporter, and arrived at Shawn's shop in Tampa at 6.00 pm yesterday. I'm in no hurry so I've asked Shawn to take his time. The plan is to repaint it properly (same color), fit headers, chassis bars, harness bar, drop the suspension a little, fix a couple of oil leaks, etc., etc. If you'd like to follow along, here's the link to the build thread: http://www.nsxprime.com/forum/showthread.php/178126-1991-Black-NSX-Michigan-ReSpray?p=1749845#post1749845
See you soon.

I didn't see that thread... but you are in GREAT hands with Shawn. He does some amazing work, and that Imola came out just sick.

BTW, CJ's on Wednesdays are still happening! There's usually 15-20 people there every week....

All right Steve, clearly Shawn is on the job.....way to go!

C'mon by CJ's sometime, this week some of us are even taking in the hockey game after dinner.

We only had 20 people for this. Maybe better crowd next Thanksgiving Evening? Plymouth Whalers lost, but the Red Wings beat the crap out of the Bruins.

Good fortune Sparkin3 on your project. That fellow in Florida has a passion.

Hey Michigan friends...Just wanted to post up a pic of a pretty special NSX I caught at C&C Scottsdale yesterday.

Hey Scotto now in PHX AZ ! We miss you here in da Nort country. It snowed today here - you miss that? It's white and slippery.

You must be on time off and enjoying AZ smooth roads. Update on current ride? We know you still miss your LBBP NSX with Tubi sounds....

We saw sparkin3 (Steve) this evening at CJ's.

Still gathering every Weds 5 PM at CJ's / Compuware Arena Plymouth Twp MI if you return for Holidays.

Best wishes for a wonderful Christmas Season.

Well, it seems that the time to receive our engine back has finally come!
Should be here on Saturday afternoon, and Ryan's car will be heading back up to TC for more tuning.
