This thread is painful for me.

I had this same problem a couple of months ago when I tried to get smog done. Turns out there was just a loose/poor connection with the switch; Ramon at Niguel Motors fixed that in no time and all is well! (I rarely ever turn off/on TCS).

In my opinion, its not worth it. The cupholders are pretty small, and don't extend high up, which doesn't make for a secure fit for most drinks. And if you're arms are long, you'll find yourself shifting awkwardly so as not to hit your drink which is already somewhat unstable.
