Yokohama A022H0s no longer in production?

After noticing that my rears (on stock 17" 95+ rims) are in serious need of replacement, I put in an order to Discount Tire for a new pair. However, they just called me back to say that the A022H0 17" rears are no longer in production - Is that true? If not, where should I be getting my tires...

R&T Owner Satisfaction surveys - tops all time

I hate to disagree with you, NSXTASY, but Road and Track's web site lists the article that I'm referring to as starting on page 99 in the August 2002 issue. You can find the it mentioned under Long-Term Reports and Owner Surveys: http://www.roadandtrack.com/pdf/2002_rt_index.pdf I'm afraid...

R&T Owner Satisfaction surveys - tops all time

Actually, the NSX placed higher than any other car they ever tested as I recall. I think that was skewed because they only surveyed original owners, and since most of the cars were sold from '91 to '93, their sample was probably skewed towards people that had owned one for 10+ years (and so...

Wheel center caps noisy - Suggestions?

Quick update - Mark Johnson just got back to me with the reply stating that there are two solutions. The easy way is to wrap black electrical tape on one or more prongs. The "more sexy way" is to dip the offending caps in black tool handle insulating goo from Home Depot. Either way should work.

Wheel center caps noisy - Suggestions?

I am using the Dali Racing center caps on my 16/17" OEM wheels (the default plastic ones were flaking and ugly). Overall, they're a great match and much better than stock, but a couple of them are not snug and make a horrible scraping noise as they spin. What is the proper way to keep them...

Grinding going into 5th gear - Solved!

For the past few months, I've noticed that the transmission grinds a little when shifting into 5th speed at 60mph or above unless I let the revs drop a bit between shifting out of 4th and into 5th. I spoke to a friend who experienced the same problem, and he told me that it was simply a matter...

Vtec supposed to kick a little?

Agreed. From what I've read, the NSX's VTEC system was tuned to provide more power at the low end and have a smooth transition to VTEC. As you noticed, the S2000 and (and Type-R) has more of a noticeable transition when transitioning into VTEC, especially audibly. My NSX doesn't exhibit any...

NSX and Snap Ring fixed or not???

Isn't the transmission number printed on the upper tranny housing, which needs to be replaced to prevent snap ring failure? That's what I've been told. If the transmission number on the tranny housing is within the snap ring range, that should imply that you are not in the clear. That's what...

    TCS Malfunction???

This definitely sounds like the PGM/FI relay failure that I experienced a couple of years ago. The relay is located behind the passenger-side seat IIRC (you'll need to remove the interior trim panels that cover it). The solder on the PGM/FI relay's circuit board appears to develop cracks over...

    Just drove a 911 TT!

I was on a business trip to visit a company I do business with on the east coast last week. While out there, the conversation turned to cars during a dinner with several managers and an executive from the company. As I walked over to my rental Neon I noticed the exec walking towards a gorgeous...

    Just drove a 911 TT!

Due to a twist of fate, I was offered the chance to take a 911 Turbo (an '02, I believe) for a spin this evening, and of course I couldn't pass it up! I have been thinking about getting an '02 Carrera 2 for a little while, and so it was great to take its bigger, meaner cousin out for a spin...

    A few q's - help me please.

Actually, used cars depreciate very quickly in Japan (especially after 3-5 years), and unless prices have changed significantly in the past few years, I would be surprised if a 15-year old NSX cost more to purchase in Japan than in the US or Canada. Has there been significant appreciation in...

NSX-R in Gothham Racing 2, Xbox.

Oh, yes Project Gotham Racing 2 is an Xbox Live game. Not only can you kick booty on Live, but you can also look at the top times in the world for any given race, download the ghosts of the top racers, and take them on! The game has received the following reviews: Gamespy.com: 5/5 Games...

rpm dips when coming to a stop

Have you disconnected your battery or pulled one of your main fuses lately? You'll experience rough idle after doing so, and in my experience, it seemed to be most common when stopping and taking the car out of gear. After a couple of days things typically sort themselves out. BTW, you aren't...

I found a mod on my car that I never installed!!!!???

Congratulations! I had the same lucky surprise when I bought my NSX. To answer your questions: 1) In terms of bangs for the buck, I don't think the intake is really up there. In fact, I'm not sure that there's any change in power. However, it does sound great when you hit the throttle...
