Hello fellow Primers,

I have a lightly used complete set of Klipsch THX Ultra2 speaker system with upgrades from the usual system.

The award-winning Klipsch THX® Ultra2 custom home theater system brings real cinema sound to the comforts of home by using the same professional-grade technology as Klipsch's renowned commercial theater systems.

* KL-650-THX LCRs (5)
* KS-525-THX surrounds (2)
* KW-120-THX subwoofers (2)
* KA-1000-THX subwoofer amplifier (2) This is one extra amp from the normal setup, which allows 1000watts for each of the two subwoofers, versus 500watts with one amp to power 2 subs.

Please note that there are no KL-525-THX LCRs (2), as I upgraded to purchasing 2 additional KL-650s, which are larger and identical to the LCRs.

Because it expertly delivers the raw explosiveness and fine detail of any film format, the Ultra2 will shatter your expectations for home theater performance by creating the most dramatic and realistic entertainment experiences you've ever heard.

The usual setup for the THX Ultra2 family consists of two sizes of LCR front speakers, one surround, two subwoofers and one subwoofer amplifier. These models can be assembled in a variety of combinations including a true THX Ultra2 system in a 7.1 configuration, which consists of three KL-650-THX LCRs, two KL-525-THX LCRs, two KS-525-THX surrounds, two KW-120-THX subwoofers and one KA-1000-THX subwoofer amplifier. The smaller KL-525-THX LCRs serve as rear center speakers.

HOWEVER, I HAVE UPGRADED IT SUCH THAT I HAVE FIVE KL-650s, so that two of them can be used for the rear center speakers. There are no KL-525s. In addition, I have two subwoofer amplifiers for 1000watts each subwoofer.

This system was built for versatility, so any combination of the sonically matched LCR speakers will deliver seamless performance, and the LCRs may also be used as surrounds. Proprietary Klipsch Tractrix® Horn tweeters and Cerametallic™ woofers are used throughout to deliver the ultimate in power, detail and emotional impact from durable, easy-to-install cabinets.

All enclosures have the dado and rabbet construction used in Klipsch professional speakers, ensuring cabinet integrity in suspended applications. Omni-Mount suspension points on the LCR and surround speakers facilitate wall or ceiling mounting using standard hardware. Each Ultra2 component, except the amplifier, comes in a Galaxy black finish with aluminum fascia. The amplifier comes in a standard black finish.

The THX Ultra2 system is a big step up in performance for home installation. It proves that big movie theater sound can come in a convenient take home size. In fact, immediately following its launch, the Klipsch THX Ultra2 proved to be a runaway success. It has brought home several honors including a 2004 CES Innovations Award, 2004 CE Pro High-Impact Product of the Year Award and a 2004 EH Product of the Year Award for the KW-120-THX and KA-1000-THX.

According to Klipsch's website, the following is the MSRP for each component.

KA-1000 $1,499.99 each plus tax and shipping (I have two of them so total is $2999.98)
KL-640 $1,499.99 each plus tax and shipping (I have five of them so total is $7499.95)
KS-525 $1,499.99 for a pair plus tax and shipping(I have one pair so total is $1,499.99)
KW-120 $1,499.99 each plus tax and shipping (I have two of them so total is $2999.98)

MSRP grand total is $14,999.90 plus tax and shipping, which adds up to over $17k.

My price is $8750, for speakers that have been used for only a few hundred hours. I just finished up my theater a year ago. I have logged proof of when I actually hooked up the speakers and started using them.
All of the speakers are in excellent condition, except for one which was used as a center speaker in my theater. It was placed in the upper soffit, which had to be installed from the ceiling. It has cosmetic blemishes but acoustically is perfect with the other speakers. If you plan on using them out in the open, then one of the other speakers can be used for the center, and this can be placed as one of the rear center surrounds.

The whole time I was working on the theater, they were in their boxes, as I was using other speakers.

The photo is a stock photo from Klipsch. My speakers will be the same, with the exception that the center rear surrounds are upgraded to the larger KL-650s, and I have included a second 1000watt subwoofer amplifier.

Please PM me if you are interested. They are located in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Thank you for your interest.
