C8 finally unveiled!!!

Probably the rear view that looks too camaro-like. I love the front and side profile look except the rear. Overall the car looks like a combination of different exotic cars mixed together, IMO.

I think the rear wing looks terrible but like the car overall. Incredible value.

Not sure which rear wing you are referring to, the base Z51 package wing is a bit funky and reminds me of the NA2 NSX-R wing, but the high wing option looks very well integrated with the contour of the rear of the car.

I have had a deposit for a PDK GT4/GT4RS for over 4 years that I am seriously considering cancelling, even without PDK the price is up all the way to $115K. PDK should be announced by the end of 2020 so that gives me some time. I'll probably wait until the Corvette Driving School at Spring Mountain in NV gets some C8's so that I can beat on one at the track for a few days before deciding what to do.

Haven't spent this much time with a car configurator in a while :D

Looks like GM built the NSX that Honda did not. Wow, just wow. I hope they sell millions of these things. It is game over for just about any car in the $50K to $250k range.

Just needs butterfly doors and there would be nothing left to want or need.

Good Job GM, you did what Ford and Honda did not do. And you make every other "exotic" to be vastly overpriced. Apparently even did it in native RHD too.

Yep, the C8 makes the European and Japanese exotic world seem ridiculous. This thing's a game changer.

I guess I'd like to hear/see the results of some serious performance testing from the car rags, maybe some head-to-heads, before declaring the rest of the sub-stratospheric exotic car world obsolete. I agree with most here, if I had even base-price money to play with I'd place an order today, just based on face value. I haven't heard or read anything about comparative performance testing, and haven't looked either, so it may be out there, but if the performance is sub-standard compared to the higher priced cars, and I think it's the handling that is the question mark, then it's really not in their league.

The Corvette engineers did wonders with FR setup. Now that they a proper layout to work with this car is going to be incredible. This car will be a game changer. Will make spending 100k on a Cayman seem ridiculous.

High end Ferrari’s and Lambos will be fine but this car is going to disrupt sub exotics and likely drive down prices of used exotics.

2017 Acura NSX gone
2015 Jaguar F type gone
1996 Acura NSX gone
2008 Corvette Z06 gone
2008 Corvette gone
1995 Mazda Miata #02 still going

Porsche and Audi may see some decreases...

Exactly.... The C7 was doing just fine, I can imagine this one will be even better.....

My love for the 981 Cayman has been extinguished by this C8.... Hard to justify buying a 2016 Cayman S with 170 less HP for close to the same money as a base 2020 C8.

I still like the 981, but this is going to kill it.....and their sales

Dressed it up with some better wheel choices and it looks even better....

This early clay design looks way better to me....

Don’t know why Chevy allowed to get out into the wild, this early clay model of the proposed design. I like this model WAY WAY better.

It’s a very brief part of the official corvette “C8 Story” video.

Nice find, as docjohn stated the clay model reminds me of a 458 as well, the rear overhang is better executed on the production vehicle and seems to be better proportioned and a necessity to accommodate the rear storage space.

Yep, that is exactly the first thing that crossed my mind when I saw the image.

>I like this model WAY WAY better.

I would guess it was because they wanted to save costs by integrating the door handles into the door shell.

Obviously, GM conducted relentless cost-cutting optimization and simplification to get down to $60K. If the quality and reliability are the same as the C6/C7 then Winner!

I’ve had a few thoughts about this car:

1) This is exciting for the used car market in 4 years when you can get one for $30k.

2) This platform, like every corvette before, will be a favorite for track junkies.

3) The Ford GT is going to be having a bad day when the C8 Z06 drops.

4) C8R takes GTLM class win @Le Mans 2020.

My local dealership here in Temecula is having a unveiling show of their own this Thursday from 4-8 ...can't wait to see it in person!!!

Kinda like this Rapid Blue

Can't say I like the blue inside, but that orange exterior really pops. Also, it's just my opinion but the rear spoiler(s) offered just don't do it for me. I like the look without a spoiler. Maybe a small molding on the rear hatch area that could be considered a spoiler (lip) would look even better.

Overall, I think GM has a winner on their hands if the C8 performs as well as it looks. Time will tell. It's a big deviation, and I'd be a little concerned about the first year model. But V8 behind the seats with an entry $60K price tag? That's gonna shake some competitors. Will leave plenty of dollars on the table to mod or purchase options to customize to a buyer's taste.

Got to be one of the first people to get a sneak peek before the big unveiling party at my local Chevy dealer last week...big thanks to Paradise Chevrolet for the intimate showing of the new C8 before the big crowds hit later that day.

Wow!!! It's even better in person....can't believe what they've done for so little.

Seriously considering selling the NSX and probably another car to get one....think I got the wife slowly coming around to the idea:tongue:

the one I got to sit in and drool over was the Elkhart Blue with white interior 3LT with the z51.... probabiy my least favorite color, but still loved it.

Here is some pics
