Discounts on new 2019?

Yes I have gone through too many cars in a 5 year window. But ready to settle down! :) Also, my 458, it had 20k miles in 4 years and had a few issues that were expensive. I had driven close to 1k miles in 2 months with the 488 and at the time, I was offered more than what I purchased for so I decided to sell it. I don't always feel comfortable leaving a Ferrari or Lambo in a parking lot all day long. I've had some throw a large rock at my Lambo. Someone used a marker to write all over my Ferrari at a market parking lot. And more stories like these.

NSX seems like it's a great car with a great price entry level! Many of you are saying 28-30k below MSRP for a 2019 so that could make it $135-140k! That seems like a good price for a car like this! And there is a trunk for my golf bag!

If a 2019 can be had $30k below MSRP, what can the 2018 be had under MSRP? Anyone with experience of shopping out there recently?

Welcome to the site

My car is over 2 years old and has over 9400 miles. Runs great every day.

My sense is you like to switch in and out or cars. Why weren't the 488 and Huracan ok for DD use?

acura made incremental changes to the 2019s (tires, suspension, beak).

i can't tell, under daily driving conditions, the difference between a 18 and a 19.

I Picked up a 2019 Thermal Orange yesterday with a MSRP of 176K for 165K plus Fees

Thats a great deal Bashar. The best deal i've been able to find is 2018 for 25k off of MSRP. They arent budging much more for me. I've contacted 4 dealerships so far

On the paperwork one dealership sent me, I'm assuming it includes incentives. The paperwork just says "discount" $25,000. :(

I have been an owner of 911's, GT3, 458, Cali, 488, Huracan. I got tired of Ferrari's games so I have been looking at 2018/2019 NSX as a daily driver. I love that by golf bag can fit in the trunk!

What is a good price under MSRP for a new 2018 model?
Any issues with the NSX I should be aware of?
I bought both a 2018 new and have a 2019 order. 2018s you can get amazing deals and the differences are minimal from the 2019. I had a dealer willing to sell a $200K 2018 for $155. I ended up with a 2018 for $36K off. Maybe could have received more but it was fine. But then once I got it and loved it, decided to order one to my spec. I didn't negotiate much and got $25K off but that assumed I'll use Acura financing for some small portion. I normally pay cash but am willing to do that if that gets me the easy good deal. Of course, they are pricing my 2018 for trade in now, so if they try to lowball me, I'll walk and just enjoy the 18. My guess is many dealers have build slots that they don't want to get to them and then sit for a long time. So I expect this dealer to be reasonable on the trade and I'll just be happy with $25K off 2019. The real fun part with a BTO is I am doing the NSX Insider Experience and get to see my car. Only two weeks away! Hope that helps. I've owned McLarens, Porsche, Lambos - I'm in my 40s now and like the NSX. It is just as exotic, feels more rare, fun to drive and is reliable. The only thing you have to remember is you have to push it to really hear the magic of the engine. But it sounds awesome when you do. Good luck!

Rethinking NSX Purchase

Thank you so much for your feedback.
My pleasure. Just as an update I am no longer an NSX owner. Did the Acura Insider Experience and it was awesome. Really convincing. But then the dealer tried to lowball me on my 2018 trade and I told them to take a hike. Bought a 2018 Ferrari 488 GTB instead. Now having had both, I have to say, the 488 just feels way more special (and you pay for that!). But the NSX is very liveable as a daily driver. It has a lot going for it. But the looks are just ok and I really struggled with finding a good color. My 18 was black which looked awesome but was a pain to keep clean (and hid the vents). The 19 was Valencia red and honestly sometimes it looked great and other times I didn't like the color. I should have considered silver.

I lust the 488 and I much prefer the sound and jumpiness of the transmission. But the NSX was easy to drive/live with for sure.

Anyway- just make sure you get a big discount because these cars depreciate quick. No matter what they say, I would never buy a new one for less than $30K off. Otherwise you are just getting hosed for a car that does not sell well and everyone knows is heavily discounted. The other issue I see is with used - so many people are listing used ones for more than what it would cost to buy a new 2019. A lot of insanity. Dealers were consistently offering around $130-$135K for a 2018 trade so when they have them listed at $150K+ you know you can work them down a lot. Unless greed sets in and they miss out on a sale. I almost bought a 2017 before I bought a 2018 but the dealer wasn't realistic about the car's value. So I passed and it sat and sat and eventually they lowered it well below my offer.

You bought and sold both an '18 and a '19 NSX in one month?

No. I sold my 18 (traded in for the 488) and did not complete the purchase on the 19 when the dealer lowballed me on the trade because they thought I "had to have it". I got to see the 19 I was to buy in person at the Insider Experience. The dealer has received it but has yet to list it for sale. Fully loaded with $201K MSRP.

Congrats on your 488! I purchased one back in July 2016 and it's a fun car and a lot of attention grabber! Remember, you cannot drive the 488 to every place that you can drive the NSX. I have a Huracan now and it's similar but Ferrari's do get more attention. Anyway, congrats and enjoy! Put some miles on it! I had driven 900 miles in 2 months and the dealer went nuts because they wanted to resell it.

Kansasnsx, sucks you got lowballed and went to a different make. Can you post how long your order process was? The time when you ordered to the dealer issuing you a order number you could track to the delivery date? I ordered a little above a month ago and haven’t received an order number yet, the dealer promised a delivery date the day I ordered to 4 months out. I just want to make sure the process is going along and the dealer isn’t waiting months on an allocation if other dealers have them avail sooner, Thanks.

I can't imagine what would suck about moving to a 488.

If your dealer got no info on your order status, call the NSX Specialists.

Mine was very quick which wasn't a surprise given how slow they are moving. But I had a loaded build and I was wanting to do the NSX Insider Experience. It was an allocation the dealer had that I could modify. They originally changed the build to my spec mid February 2019. It was slated for a May production. Once I claimed it and then elected to do NSX Insider experience it moved up to March build because I got to see it on April 2 and it was already done.

Hope that helps! The dealer was slow to get info once it entered production. I knew more from the NSX team than my dealer did. I knew the VIN before they did :). But they are not selling well so a confirmed order should move up is my guess.

Yeah that sounds quick, nice coincidence you were able to modify an already in progress order. It's good to know once it goes to production though it should be about a month. Since my order was slated for Jul I should have the order number by the end of May I suppose. I passed on the experience, i'll see if that bumps anything up though :p Thanks for the info and enjoy your sweet F car.
