There is a thread on ferrarichat talking about how a stock covette nearly took the 355 in a race. They are talking about what they can do to correct that problem. It sounds SOOO similar to many threads we have. Interesting
Isn't there a reason why the Corvette is called the "poor man's Ferrari?" Or was that the Viper/NSX/MR2? In any case, those Ferrari owners need to just get over it. Most people who buy Ferraris don't even look at a 'vette...
In the same train of thought, someone could strap on a rocket and be faster than a Ferrari/Lambo/NSX/etc. Big friggin' deal. There will always be competition that's faster/lighter/more powerful, but they will never have the style of a Corvette/NSX/Ferrari/whatever.

IMO, the NSX was never, and will never be a drag race car. Who cares who can wax you at a stoplight? Any redneck can build up his Mustang 5.0 to blow away any stock NSX, vette, Ferrari.
I love the speed/racer pyramid from the NSX Files. Drag and street racers are pretty much near the bottom of the heap.
