HID retrofit on flipup headlights

Yes we have check out this link : http://www.nsxprime.com/forums/showthread.php?t=44100&highlight=HIDs

Using the search feature is fun...

Actually that is not a retrofit. That's a kit. Retrofitting is much more labor intensive and yes someone has done it but at a very high cost. The biggest challenge is the fluted glass. It had to be cut and then a clear lens glued on. I wish someone would just make a clear headlight assembly.

You can see the work here:

Part 2 is here:

Yeah I did a tsx retro fit on my integra. I was just wondering if it similar to do it on a nsx. Sorry I feel like a noob I didnt even see the search button. This layout is much different from honda-tech.

HA! - it's called "02 conversion"!!!

HA! - it's called "02 conversion"!!!

yea why waste the time & $$$ to do this conversion when you can just update to the fixed headlights which are projection HID lights? :)

how much does an 02 conversion cost?

This is from a post from last year. (I did a search for "02 conversion cost")

http://www.nsxprime.com/forums/showt...ont+conversion

Parts only for front end:
$1600 oem headlights
$350 HID (thanks to EvoF575gt, otherwise add another $350)

$100 02+ oem front lip
$1000 OEM hood hood
$300 for seals, caps, bulbs, brackets, etc.
=$5012.00

BTW, welcome to Prime. But try the search button. It's cool.

Nope.. but I am not a fan of the halo's. I dont want a plug and play kit because it just looks horrible. I like the cut off line and sharpness of a real projector hids.

gsrboy, go check the threads again, the nsx had a really nice distint cut off even with the plug and play retrofit kit.

They are 100x better than my wife's 03 TLS oem HID.

gsrboy, i have a spare 8000K plug and play HID kit. I have the same one on my NSX and will post a pic of what they look like when i get off work. They use the projectors that are already on the car and are lowbeam only, but look great.

I'll send them to ya for $200 shipped if you like them.

Hell, if you come up to WA i'll install them for ya too...

Like this? It's not a retro fit but it is plug and play. You will never find a retrofit that is plug and play because you have to remove a already existing HID headlight and make it fit in the NSX headlight housing this is vary time consuming and not vary cost effective. My suggestion would be to go with a HID bulbs. Their is no cutting and hacking to make them work, and there are a number of vendors that can provide a kit so you don't even have to drill your dust cap. This is my duel Mc Culloch 6000K hid (High and Low) the light output is excellent and they have an exotic blue tint to them with a vary bright white light.

hmm thanks for the info guys. invisiblevision let me think about it. I bet it would look alot better with a clear plastic instead of all those lines running down it.

DRIFTER, thanks for the pics, i got home and realized i didn't even need to post pics because the ones you posted looked exactly like mine!

So, $1600 + $350 is all I need to have an 02 fixed head-lights? That beats $3500+ quote I got. hmmmmmm...

Yes I know, that's just for the headlights. The place I called wanted $3500+ for the headlights alone. When I found that out, I crossed-out the Cantrell GT front bumper on my modification list. But now.... now its easier to justify the conversion.

wow 350 for the hids kit? thats a little spendy isnt it? All you need is the bulb and ballast and igniter. Which hid planet sells for cheap. Make your own relay and save. =)
