High beam switch operation quick question for anyone.

How is the high beam switch supposed to operate? Mine isn't working and the mechanic says it is supposed to lock into place in the high beam position but he is hardly an NSX specialist... if there is such a thing. Currently it acts as a toggle and doesn't stay on. Is it supposed to be a toggle or a lock switch?

Thanks for any help.

when you pull the stick towards you, there is a bit of a detent. that's the first position, which just keeps the high beams on as long as you hold it there. If you keep pulling, you will hear a click, and at that point the high beams will be toggled ON. Pull all the way again to toggle them off.

As I understood the question, the stalk returns to the same position regardless of whether it was pulled halfway (for momentary high beams) or all the way (to toggle the high beams).

35280-SL0-A02 is the part number for the switch. Quite pricy at ~600. Might be worth taking yours apart and trying to repair it.

One thing to note, the switch will only lock If the low beams are also on. With the low beams off, it only toggles.
