How to get rid of stains on aluminum coolant tank?

Hey guys, I just purchased my NSX and the aluminum coolant tank has some stains on it (I assume from previous coolant spill?). I have tried just about everything, but can not remove the stains. Any ideas on what to use to remove them? Thanks

Use a polishing bit on a rotary tool and buff it out.

I know this might be a stretch but don't discount trying a Mr. Clean "Magic Eraser". It's available at most grocery stores along with regular sponges. I don't know whether it will indeed work but considering its low cost it might be worth a shot.

If it's the aluminum having been oxidized or otherwise damaged it might not work, but it's cheap enough and certainly not risky to try it.
