Having both cars in my garage at this time, I can say with quite a bit of accuracy is that they both sit pretty much the same. The 355 was Ferrari's response to the NSX when it came out, an exotic that was actually reliable and easy to drive everyday. There are really quite a few similarities between both models, and quite a few differences as well.
When I was looking for an NSX replacement at the time, nothing else really got me as excited as the 355. The looks of the 360 didn't really do it for me at the time, but it was really the size of the 355 (ie. it is the "right" size for me) and the SOUND. Oh yes, the sound. Believe me, we tried everything in the book to make the NSX sound like a Formula 1 car, let alone the 355, but to no avail. There is truly nothing else in the world quite like the 355, in its price range, or even many times over its price range. I can name a few other cars that may sound almost as good, but they are pretty much unobtainium. Like the Carrera Gt, or the FXX. Not even the Enzo impressed me (in terms of sound).
My NSX is built quite a bit, so it is much faster than the 355. Don't get me wrong, the 355 is no slouch. My 355 has test pipes and an MS Racing exhaust, Gruppe M intake, and oy, it sound GLORIOUS ;-) You forget the speed (or lack of it compared to the NSX) once you hear that though. The throttle response is also very race-car like, instantaneous. Individual throttle bodies for you ;-) I love both cars, but for slightly different reasons.
Here's one of the best videos made about the car. Turn up the volume!

Did I say that they sit almost as low as each other?
Cheers,
