NYTimes slightly snubs NSX in deference to GT-R

Thats why we own an NSX! in 10 years they will still look great, they will still get stared at, people will still ask what is that? Maybe we are the only one's who understand. Its not about Hype, its about the facts for us. facts are, the NSX was way ahead of its time and is still holding up strong in terms of maintance and looks. Will any of these new cars do what the nsx did? you ask what did it do? Simple. It created a Cult following. Just the fact that they are out of production, 17 years old and some people still dont know what they are. That should say enough. keep trying nissan..or whoever.....the NSX will ALWAYS be a LEGEND

The glory days are over. While mired under the 276ps we saw what many racing formulas strive to acheive. The 90's JDMs will forever be a golden age for sports cars because each manufacturer created something unique. The philosophy behind the NSX is something we will likely never see again. I want to see something truly balanced come out of Honda but it seems that without the likes of Ken Okuyama and Shigeru Uehara, Honda has fallen behind drastically for this upcoming wave of japanese sports cars. Sadly, I do not have faith that Honda will produce a compelling alterative to this new GTR and the Lexus LF-A without them. It frustrates me that they don't just look to the old car for inspiration. We need something in the vein of the NSX-R. Something that will alienate the typical cash lined buyer of these types of cars. Something so pure that the result will be greater than the sum of its parts.

I'm pertty easy going on this subject, and I'm OK with what ever Honda is going to do with the NSX replacement, regardless the format. One thing I'm mad at Honda and will never forgive them is for not bring us the Type R models. In my opinion, that is the greatest disrespect to all the NSX owners in America.

hi guys sorry to introduce myself like this ..
i felt in love with your board,i'm reading it since few weeks, lots of interesting things to learn kinda look like the nsx bible  .....
so appart that,i'm actually a R32gtr owner but looking for the nsex in few months
so that's why this thread made me want to answer (even if it's not the hot mama R35GTR)to give the point of view from guys on the other side

the skyline is maybe a myth but for sure the nsx is too
i doubt you will see any skyline owner considering this in another way
even if there's less power, the engineering, the (sexy) curves, the dynamic feeling(just been passenger for a too short time) with the V6 screaming behind...did i said sexy???
on the other side, newer models appart if you take the R32 and R33 the lines are pretty common..;just look at the S14 or a 91 accord(omg what did i said..)

will want and have the nsx but will keep the gtr to make it my track w**re!!!lool

don't take it too seriously,it's just the pro/pilote/journalist point of view of a specialised magasine of the automotive industry..hahahhaha

"While sports cars like the Toyota 2000GT and Acura NSX were memorable, they did not attain the same level of performance — or incite the same degree of lust — as European exotics. The GT-R could be different."

So what? The GT-R looks ugly IMO. And the NSX was engineered in the 80's. Give me a break.

Really? Not even an R8? That seems like the closest thing to an NSX today.

Yeah, maybe an R8. I saw one on the fwy a couple of days ago. It was white - it looked amazing while rolling; sitting still, I'd say "eh, not bad, not great", but on the road the R8 is nice.

I parked next to a GTR the other day, took some pictures that I can post as soon as i can get them of my mobile ... it is absolutely huge compared to the NSX, i think the brakes are biger than my wheels !

R8 is not even in my comparison list. heavy, slow, overpriced & overbuilt. It does look cool thats it.
Rather have a GT3, used 360, old Pantera, SL55, so many other cars any day. If I wanted luxury I would buy a Austin Martin for 120k any day over an Audi / Lambo maintenance hog. Audi's are already known for electrical issues and Lambo even worse, time tell tell us how bad the R8 is.

I refuse to even acknowledge any car until it has been around minimum 2-4 years. Manufactures claims are garbage and Magazine reviews are biased & manipulated. People claiming "best ever"..... the day it comes out ... smells like like Shi* to me..

"Apparently the Acura/Honda badge is not exotic enough"

Agree, Datsun has much more to offer in this area.............
It may have the numbers, but looks kinda like a new Mustang with Mazda front fenders?

Hey now...no crackin on the Datsuns!
Our exoticness is due to rapid rust annihilation resulting in very few cars around. It's cancerous. Save em!
