Seems like I might need a new gasket?

That looks like an oil pan to me.

Edit: Sorry, I thought you said "head" gasket. As mentioned below I'd try tightening it just a bit. If you overtighten it you'll crack the gasket.

try tightening the oil pan bolts back to spec, I had seepage in mine last year and AoB tightened the bolts, no prob since. Plus I switched to mobil1, so if there was a problem i figured i'd see it for sure.

Looks fine. Tighten up if you wish...

It will get really "wet" before it starts to drip. Check it every six months or so...

I believe I posted a good "how to" on R&Ring the gasket.

BE CAREFUL tightening the oil pan. Don't just tighten in the proper nut sequence, but tighten each like a 1/2 turn at a time in sequence, then keep repeating. You can bend the pan up really, really easily if overtorqued.

Basically you need to identify what it is and where it comes from. I would clean up the area around the gasket with degreaser and torque the oil pan down to spec. (make sure you follow the sequence). Perform a weekly inspection. If oil is actually seeping out from the gasket after retorque, you need to remove and replace it.

A quick note to all about the oil pan gasket and pan on this engine. First the gasket can only be torqued a certain amount and after that the pan will bottom out to the engine base. You seen in those holes they have a open dowel which is used to set the pan gasket and keep it from shifting during tightening. Once you reach proper torqued, these dowels which have a predetermined length will bottom out if over tightened. This is supposed to keep the gasket from being squeezed to heavily and thus inviting leaks. Secondly the pan area around the bolts is reinforced with a extra thick flange on the outside to keep the pan from warping at the edges. This pan is extremely well constructed compared to a lot of things you've seen from Detroit.

One additional comment.

Many have been fooled (ask me how I know:)) that the oil pan gasket is leaking when it is actually the VTEC spool valve seal. ALWAYS inspect for leaks by looking at the highest wet area to determine where a leak is. A front spool valve seal going bad can send oil down the block and it will run along the oil pan edge and you would swear you need an oil pan gasket, only to replace it, then have a drip in a few weeks. Been there, done that.

I agree with Larry on that one. It happened to me and I could swear it was coming from the oil pan area. Changed the VTEC gasket and the problem was solved. Good call Larry.

Sorry to bring this thread from the death.
I'm wondering if the vtec spool value leak will cause any decrease in performance?
It's either I really got used to the power of the car or I think I need a supercharger

Big difference in Vtec and SC gains.

Exactly what happen to me just a month a go. Smoke was coming out near thru the holes near the glass hatch. Replaced the rubber gaskets $$$. No problem since. BTW I swithced from Idemitsu to Mobil 1 gold. No problem since. The mechanics had asked me to watch for the moon seals incase it still leaks.
