Ben, Going back to your original question and the statement you made concerning piston speed; I would like to clarify that the longer stroke means the piston is travelling faster. This is due to the greater distance the piston needs to cover in the same given time.

John, Just a small clarification; the rotors of SC do not touch each other. There is a very small but critical clearance between them.
