I had the same experience here in Chicago with my Apexi N1 exhaust on my 95' Civic. I contested the ticket and won. I told the arbitrator that the polished tip was factory Honda. A couple of friends here just get their exhausts coated flat black as not to attract attention.

Due to the crime being a battery (charging purposes). The juveniles have to be accordingly and not as adults. From what I've seen, juveniles get processed and their guardians pick them right up from the station, then the case is turned over to a youth investigator/detective for their hearings.
