Cobalt Friction - "new" GT Sports Squeal Like a Pig

The Cobalt XR-Series Carbon-Ceramic brake pads are based on hybrid sintermetal technology coupled with secondary carbon precursor deposition, making them unlike any other brake pad on the market. The XR-Series is the result of considerable R&D, taking from what we have learned over the years...

    Ferrari massages their "NSX"

As long as the gerbils don't leave little poop dropping on the garage floor, I don't care how they get to 450hp. :-) -Andie

    Cobalt Friction Technologies/Andie Lin

Andrea, You need to grow up. Bashing other vendors, especially those with well-established reputations within the NSX community is very immature. Ben specifically asked for a cross-drilled rotor in order to match his front Porsche BBK, and is well-aware that a cross-drilled rotor is more...

    TAROX Brake Kit Order

Andrea, I provide service, and this is what Cobalt customers pay for. If you think my prices are too high, then consider that I advertise list prices only. Also consider this: if you are located in Italy, how will you be able to provide timely service to customers in the U.S.? I have a 1995...

Has Dali Racing (Mark Johnson) ripped you off

Same here...Mark has satisfied me many times...cough cough.. <grin> :-) (inside joke with MJ) har har... Seriously, though...MJ is a good guy...he is one of my few dealers, and I don't do business with people who are not trustworthy. -Andie [This message has been edited by HomeDepotNSX...

I am planning on placing a stocking order for TAROX brake kits in the next week. If there is anyone who would like to order a TAROX brake kit for their NSX, please let me know at [email protected]. Delivery time is 4-5 weeks. This is a good time for people with front BBK's to balance...

    Brake dusting rate

Laser burnished was mocked at by Carbotech just last year, and they admitted last year that it would be used, if ever, as a marketing tool only. I know this because I used to be the VP of Carbotech, and left in part because of this type of unethical marketing. Properly bedding in a pad...

Cobalt Race Systems -- NSX Customer Input

Down to the last detail, Cobalt strives to satisfy its customers. As such, I would like to ask for opinions from NSX Prime members on the lettering syle for the new COBALT 4 caliper, before it goes into final production. Cobalt Race Systems brake upgrade kits will be available for: Integra GSR...

Overheating problem under load and idle.....

Take off your coolant bottle cap. Shake it...if it rattles, then look closer at the small spring on the inside...and tip the cap from right-side up to upside-down...if the little plunger inside rattles around...just go to Pep Boys and buy a new cap...$3.75...should fix it. -Andie

    Griot's Oil Extractor

The Griot's oil extractor is awesome...used to use it at DanO's garage when I lived in MI...thanks, Dan! Their brake fluid extractor (for bleeding brakes) is equally good...basically the same thing, but smaller in volume, and has a nipple for the bleeder screw. -Andie

Cobalt Friction Technologies --> Who's Stopping Your NSX?

Yes, both on paper and in the real world, a floating rotor/hat design is better than a fixed, single-piece rotor...overkill on the street, but better on the track and under race conditions. -Andie

Cobalt Friction Technologies --> Who's Stopping Your NSX?

Rotors manufactured to OEM specifications, but with a floating hat assembly, should have no greater mass than the OEM rotor (the rotor section itself). A floating rotor/hat assembly serves the following purposes (listed in order of importance): (1) The rotor and the hat are able to expand and...

Cobalt Friction Technologies --> Who's Stopping Your NSX?

Custom compounds are still under development. However, we have many products available to meet the needs of our fellow NSXers. For aggressive street, autocross, drag, and light track use, the Axxis Ultimate and Ferodo DS2500 are excellent choices. The Hawk HP Plus is also available for those...

Cobalt Friction Technologies --> Who's Stopping Your NSX?

Ron, Neither...Brembo OEM replacement rotors without slots, dimples, or holes. That's the short answer. The long(er) answer is: While slots, vanes, holes, and dimples all assist in cooling the rotor, the rotor itself (which has these "modifications") can withstand LESS heat before...

    Brake dust

For my fellow NSXer's, I am highly recommending the Axxis Ultimate brake pad as an OEM replacement pad. The dust level is similar to OEM, but it is non-corrosive, and not "sticky" on wheel finishes. It has increased bite, and the braking torque is 15-20% more than OEM, while also having a fade...
