A sad day...Goodbye #37!!

It is with a heavy heart that I close the decade long chapter that was my NSX experience. The transport arrives tomorrow to take her to her new home. It's been a good while since I've been active on the board but I wanted to reach out to the many I have enjoyed getting to know over the years. I've often said that the best part of owning my NSX was the incredible people I've come to know through the car. My wife Heather and I have attended NSXPO's, weddings and sadly funerals with our NSX friends. We have former NSX owners as the godparents of our young children. Many of our very dearest friends in this life we are blessed to know because of this car we all love. To say the NSX community has been woven into the fabric of our lives is an understatement. While the metal, glass and plastic move on (congrats to Matt aka D1 guy of MS) the friendships and memories we will hold dear as we move forward.

Greg & Nicole, Ben, Vinny & Mary, Wei-Shen & Lynn, Mark & Maria, Don & Cathy, Todd & Christine, Ken, Bob, Romeo, Charles, Doc Bob, Larry B. and so many others...it's been a great ride!

I don't even know you by posts but I feel just a bit compelled to write - what has made you give up your NSX? Why have you chosen to sell it?

Seems like you are very close to those in this group and have been so for a long time - so why now? Hopefully there is nothing forcing this because of our bad economic conditions and I don't mean to pry there -but would like to know just whatever else you care to share.

Thanks,

NO SCOTT!!! WHY???

Don't say it's because of your kids, I am sure you can fit them all in the trunk, where the spare tire sits or on Heather's lap!

You know once it leaves, you will want another NSX as soon as you see or hear one driving down the road.

I am sure you will still be on the board so hopefully you will be telling us welcome to #38!

Times cant be this tough! you can always give blood over and over and over again. thats what I would do to keep my NSX, but like others have said you will miss it when you see one driving down the road. so actually say Hello to your next NSX.

Matt; Welcome! Looks like a great car. Scott stay in touch, hope to see you again soon.

Scott - I feared this day might come. I'll never forget actually feeling nauseated after a few laps around Sebring in "The Green Machine" <a href="http://www.gifmix.net/smileys/" target="_blank" title="Smileys"><img src="http://www.gifmix.net/smileys/puking-smilies/21.gif" border="0" alt="Smileys"></a>
Make sure you guys keep in touch, especially when you come over to the parks with the kids. Hopefully, we'll see you in a new NSX soon.

You know it's amazing what these cars can attract  :

Nice sentaments about the ownership experience,I feel the same.Hope your children are as much fun as ours.I think we have kids about the same age:wink: I hope you maintain your nsxca membership, who knows we may see you all at another xpo.

Really sad for you Scott, how will you make to forget the NSX? , I wish you much courage for the continuation and hopes that this abandonment is not final… one day, you will have another NSX!

Vraiment triste pour vous Scott, comment allez vous faire pour oublier la NSX?, je vous souhaite beaucoup de courage pour la suite et espère que cet abandon n'est pas définitif...un jour, vous aurez une autre NSX!

regards

Friendships and Memories last a lifetime  I am sure the day will come and you will find yourself behind the wheel of another NSX. Congrats on the sale.

Scott,
I'm glad to see more than ever that you are still around. I was talking to Romeo about you and some other guys about a month ago that we don't see anymore.
So, you know if you ever feel the need..come on up to Charleston for a ride (drive) or I can come down with Netviper. We were there in December to pick up THE NEW HOTNESS...CLS63 AMG from MB of Tampa. Pm Me your number

This chokes me up. I'm sure you'll always be regarded as part of the community. Bless your hearts...
Tim.

She was delivered to me about 3 hours ago. She is beautiful. Lots of road grime from shipping so I plan on spending the next 3 hours cleaning, washing, and waxing. I'll post some pics soon :) Thanks Scott!!!

Todd,
Thanks buddy! Taking you around for those hot laps is one of my favorite memories of "XPO O6"! Heather and I will certainly be keeping in touch. Best to you and the family!

Alex,
Many thanks for your reply my friend! Ah, you know life does this sometimes...she's in great hands now with Matt from MS.

One of my all time best NSX-adventures was NSXPO 2000 in Alpharetta. It was great seeing you take a well-deserved concours win...what a blast that week was!!!
