Accommodations
I introduce headquarters and recommended hotels below.
Hotels in Kyoto and Suzuka are already booked. I will provide room to you.
Autumn is best season for visitors, additionally we will stay in Kyoto weekend
including Japanese national holiday. So it is very hard to book any rooms especially in Kyoto.
But I block 43 twin bedrooms in Kyoto.
Of course you may stay in any hotels using reward program.

If you want to stay in single bedroom,Tokyo, you may book “Hotel JAL City Tamachi Tokyo” now.
But other attendees can book headquarters or recommended hotels with cheaper rate from July.
I will inform you the date you can book.
Group name is “NSX Fiesta tour”. When you book headquarters hotel, inform this.

In Tokyo (Check in Nov.16 and out 17, check in Nov.18 and out 19 and check in Nov.22 and out Nov.23)

You may leave your large luggage at your hotel for your return.

Headquarters Hotel
Hotel Granvia Kyoto (modern, excellent, above Kyoto station)
30 twin bedrooms are already booked for you.

But if you share your room, cost is acceptable in this very busy season, autumn in Kyoto. I recommend you to stay here.

Economy hotel in Kyoto

I found some rooms in Kyoto are available:smile:.
Near Kyoto station or Hotel Granvia.
Rate for single bedroom is about JPY11,000(USD122) per night.
Included tax but not included breakfast.
But I need to pay to travel agent in advance.
You may pay to me through Pay Pal or transfer to my bank account.
Hotel Granvia and Westin Miyako is excellent and recommended.
But if you save your money, this economy hotel is acceptable.
If you want to stay alone, let me know.

Hotel Vista Kyoto Hachijohguchi
12.5SQM narrow:wink: but new!

Hirofumi,

Thank you for all your efforts to arrange rooms in both Tokyo and Kyoto.

Just to verify, the Grand Prince Hotel Takanawa is NOT accepting reservations until July. I tried to book online at their website but no rooms were available on the dates of Nov.16-19

Thanks,
Wei-Shen

Thanks Hirofumi for all the work on the various hotels! We really appreciate all the information & choices!

Tonight, I was successful in directly booking a room online with a queen bed at the Citadines Kyoto Karasuma-Gojo hotel for JPY 14,000 (US$153) for two nights (Nov 19 & Nov 20; checking out on Nov 21).

For the Tokyo nights both before & after the Kyoto & Suzuka portions of the trip, I'll be at the Shinagawa Prince Hotel. 4 of the nights were booked at US$91 rate, 1 night at US$168 & 1 night at US$147 (we'll be there Sun Nov 14-Thu Nov 18; checking out Fri Nov 19) & then again on Mon Nov 22; checking out Tue Nov 23.

See everyone in Japan in November!!

Hi,

Yes, you cannot book now. Hotel doesn't accept your requests through their web site yet. It is too early to book it. Please wait. There are many rooms in Shinagawa area, so don't hurry please.

Sorry for the delay in responding!

My husband booked our Tokyo hotel (Shinagawa Prince) in mid-April at the same time that we were booking our United flights. We chose from one of United's hotel offers at the time. The $91 is the room cost per night & then there is a $18 taxes/fees charge per night on top of that. We realized in mid-June that we needed to add another night at the same hotel so we did, but by that time, the rate had gone up to $141 per night + $26 taxes/fees.

The United confirmation email had this phone number for changes 1-888-724-9306 & the notation that when calling to make changes that we needed to specify that an E-Special Rate hotel was booked. Perhaps you could try calling them directly now to see what rates they have available. Good luck w/your hotel search!

Hirofumisan, will you be forwarding hotel information for Tochigi or should we be booking on our own? If possible, I'd like to remain w/ the bulk of the group.

Thanks for your help!

OK.
But it is so expensive to stay alone.
I recommend you to share your room.

I stayed several days recently at the Kangaroo Hotel in Tokyo for 3,500 yen ($43 US) per night. It is new, clean and safe. The rooms are hard-wired for your PC or you can use their Apples. This place has Japanese futons with showers and toilets down the hall. These may be the smallest rooms in Tokyo, but I enjoyed it. It is about a 12-minute walk from Miami Senju station. They speak English. [email protected]

I found it easy to change money at a good rate at the Narita airport, although many Japanese banks change money as well. It is more of a cash economy than the states, as many places don't take credit cards.

$1:00 for 81.5 yens, yesterday.
