91 NSX, symptom=when closing glass engine hatch it won't lock closed (I know you should lower it and press, it used to work and stopped working). It WILL lock shut if one person presses on the glass and simultaneously a second person pushes the latch release (by drivers seat) towards the drivers side (ie opposite direction of how you push it to release the lock). So for the short term we are ok but need to know how to permanately fix it. Does/can the cable need replacing? (we lubed it where it meets the locking mechanism and it didn't fix the problem).

Sounds to me like the latch spring might be broken.
Does the interior latch feel springloaded?
