Interests in 02+ replica oem wheels???

I don't think multiple sizes will happen. Also I wouldn't mix my BBS with these just to save a few $. No matter what, this wheel won't match the quality of the OEM forged wheel.

If the wheel had the quality of a TE37 that's at $3700 or whatever, I'd still take this wheel simply because it is my favorite design. Not saying it should cost that unless it is forged, but there's a large gap between $1000 and $3700.

Also before it goes into production we should absolutely get the offsets right... something that allows a lowered car run 235's without rubbing, something that can also hopefully clear a BBK or two. I know there is no perfect solution but let's get everyone's input and get it as good as possible. We can't go back and correct after the fact.

Dave, dont start equating cost with quality. Enkei rfp01 are good, strong and light. Oh, also available at tirerack for $250ea. :) I hear what you're saying but quality determines quality, not the cost. There is no reason these can't be made and made right for around $1k especially with a group buy this large.

I would. 17x8 = 235/40/17 and my oems in the rear can fit a 275/40/17 and I'm golden for the track. Now reality is that I would buy 4 so I could have track and street wheels.

And for the record, I'd bet there are hundreds of thousands of track miles on enkei rfp01s as its a very popular wheel to use for the track because its light, cheap, and well made. And btw.... Not forged. So it can be done w/o charging $3,000.

Thank you for inserting logical thinking into this thread. Just because something costs 10X more doesn't = 10x better.
 
Lets keep on track guys, please leave comments about the sizing and offsets, we can only choose one set. My main concern is that i need to buy 50 sets over the next 2 years from this guy... lets start making a list of people that would be in, I am assuming them to be $950 for a set plus shipping

$0.02. For this GB to happen a few things need to come together.

We ALL have to agree on a set with particular sizing. I've dealt with these companies before and it's not cheap for them to make the cast mold (i'm assuming it's cast, i didn't read the beginning of this thread). Every iteration of a wheel requires a new mold. It's bad enough we're asking for 2 sizes (17x8/18x9). Throw in custom offsets and you'll kill the deal.

Granted.. if they include some meat in the pad face you can machine off 5-10mm to increase the offset.

All i'm saying is.. please don't kill the deal. We'll all have to agree on a compromise size that best works for the majority of the buyers. Others can use spacers or vice versa; others can machine off the hub face.

P.S. Can someone with some photochopping skills PLEASE photoshop what a bigger 18" 02+ rear wheel would look like? Are you guys even sure you'll be ok with how it looks? The staggered height will be noticeable.

Sorry 17x7 is not gonna happen, nor will the 18x10 +25 thats too aggressive lol

nero is on the right track imo... but is the 17x8 40 mm offset too aggressive vs the 45 for the front?

also my concern, with these sizes and offsets, they should clear all 91-05 nsx calipers? I know that stock 02 sizes/offsets wont fit on the older nsx's

yes they will be cast, also with a 18x10 rear rim, we can most likely design it to have a concave face and the front being more stock/flat

would you guys be interested in a rear face like that?
