I would not buy a car like this without one, but use it as part of the total toolkit. Use the check list found in this site's FAQ, along with your own feelings, and then get the opinion of a qualified NSX technician. Ask if you can be with the tech as he/she examines the car. Go on a test drive with them. They cannot find everything, but it will be worth much more than just $79. Better yet, take it to the dealer where it has been serviced and check the records.
Compression check is great, but may not be needed. Sometimes the extra money is worth the sleep the night after the papers are signed.
