that RL looks so plain,vanilla,maxima....hyundai is killing it in styling
Hyundai actually is jumping leaps ahead of some of the other manufacturers. Once thought to be a crappy built car it has come a long way.

The current VW/Audi front-fascia (namely upper/lower grilles) are rally influenced, as such design/styling cues have been prevalent in the past/current Mitsu Lancer series, Nissan R35 GT-R, etc'. Even Honda has been influenced by such w/ their '11 Accord coupe refresh.
FWIW, the '11 RL has a revised (more tame/subliminal) front-grille...
I haven't kept up w/ anyother year-to-year changes/updates w/ the other current Acura models. Though, the MDX would be an offering that I'd give consideration to if I was in the market for a mid-sized premium/luxo' SUV w/ 3-row seating.
2x! My personal fav' would be '05-'08 RL front-fascia w/ the '09-'11 RL rear-fascia, that would be my ideal late-model premium/luxo' import sport-sedan (the RL'specific SH-AWD driving experience, overall build-quality, excellent fit-&-finish, great ergonomics & refined styling, lotsa tech., etc' ).
Other than the MDX, the only recent vehicle that looked decent was their A-Spec RL.
And that is THE flagship of the mighty Honda Empire. Subaru makes the same thing called the Legacy.that RL looks so plain,vanilla,maxima....hyundai is killing it in styling
I never like the "A" logo on any of the cars. Looks more like a star trek logo
Interiors are becoming very dated.
what's up with the Hitler mustache on the 2011 RL?
Speaking of grills...I saw a mesh grill on a 4th gen TL this morning and it markedly improved the car's look. Gave it an almost sinister form:
I'd love to see something similar for the '09+ RL! Instead of the billet-like crisscross chrome mesh, may be some spread'out horizontal chrome-slats (ala '05-'08 RL/Legend) but still w/ the emblem in the middle & the upper crest-like shield portion minimized (as-in this custom TL front-grille).Speaking of grills...I saw a mesh grill on a 4th gen TL this morning and it markedly improved the car's look. EDIT: there are analogous offerings for the '09+ RL...

I know i've said this before, but anyways, the beak isn't the problem. it's the execution.
this is what made the beak look good, what allowed it to go through management:
somehow we ended up with this
it may be just a few subtle differences, but the impact is huge. the silvery shiny plastic that Acura uses in the production TL's grille is not the same as the more subdued, classier looking metal on the concept. And why they decided to let it ride up into the hood rather than being aligned with the headlights, like in the concept, is beyond me.
If that was plug-&-play w/ the USDM '09+ RL front-fascia (ie. bumper/hood), I'd be all over that if I was an '09+ RL owner!I like the Honda Legend grill from Japan...

RL is indeed kinda meh. I own an '05 and still can admit this.
I test drove the RL before the MMC and it was a great car, a little too "luxury" and not enough "sport" for me though. I saw the refreshed RL and the new beak looks decent, not ordinary but not ridiculous anymore either. I didn't like the rear though.
Really dug how the '10 6MT TL drove, on the fence about the looks though, waiting to see how the '12 MMC turns out.
