it dawned on me that i had not told you about the artist. the tale i will tell may touch you, but within it you may find shared hope...
maria ogden has been a patient of mine for years. she came to me w/ a mouthful of crowns that fit like "socks on a cat". her previous dentist who placed these gems will soon be our nj gop candidate for senate[ more on this pos in another thread
...]. i discovered her fascinated by the process of crown production , and it's mirror industry of jewelry production. they are identical.
she always would flash her "projects"[ no snickers please...] or toss me raw diamonds to play with. her spirit is all fun, play and joy, and her life reflected that...two beautiful girls named amy & ' cheech ' and loving husband, darryl.
to see them on my schedule was a goooood day!
of course, the fairy tale ends.... her husband develops pancreatic cancer in 1995...a killer is an understatement... and maria's life is without doubt, a lil' emptier... i miss you darryl, i wish your teeth were not so perfect, so i could have gotten to know you more.
i have seen her maintain her joy and smile, thru to this day. even with
that... to know her is to know grace...
she has had a hard time staying afloat financially, two girls now in college, and tax sales looming from time to time.... i took maria for a ride in the nsx a year ago, and blew her doors off on our twisties. she giggled, posessed it seemed...
that "this is it" feeling you may remember... when we stopped, maria was gahgah about the car, talking nonstop. i joked to her that she could make a killing selling jewelry...ooops genie out of the bottle....
now you know the story of another member of our nsx family. to those who have supported this labor of love, i thank you. if you want to thank "otter", she's at 9088529777...
and a big hug to you, maria. thank you.
