NSX Comes Home!

This home story goes back a few years, when we bought a river lot 20 min north of downtown Minneapolis - and decided to build a house that did the lot justice. Its like living in a park, but with a better view.

There's an elevator shaft plumbed but not installed yet, for when my knees go out or we need to care for a sick/elderly relative.

The design was a collaboration between a superb architect, my wife and myself. I have designed a few homes, including the last two I've owned, but I never claimed to be an architect. I'm all about the details...

David - Contact me and I'd love to chat about your vision for that property.

Ed - Would love to share my home plans sometime. I'm a lawyer, not an architect. But my degree before law school was in marketing and I did graphic design for a while, so I've always liked the creative process of drawing something useful and aesthetically pleasing.

Minneapolis/St. Paul is a great place. I visited there for work one September several years ago. I arrived wearing shorts and a t-shirt and was totally comfortable. The next morning, I walk from my hotel over to the Minnesota World Trade Center fully dressed in a suit and overcoat and was still freezing from the wind.

The front of your house reminds me of one that I considered for my lots with multiple garage doors facing the road. I've attached a picture. I think yours would similarly benefit from some plants in between the garage doors like this one has, or other landscaping in the motor court area. A splash of color to break up the hard facade of stucco and concrete. Just a suggestion. Anyway, you've done a great job on it!

David,

I'm with you on the landscaping - but cut me a little slack, I've had the driveway for about 5 days.

Interestingly, none of my garages face the road. The end of the garage faces the street and the doors on one side and the pines on the other frame the motor court.

Tons more to do, but it will be something to see when complete!

Im gonna call you PDiddy from now on........................lol

Wow, and I thought my home was nice! What a beautiful home - sincere congratulations!

Any specific plans for the garage?

Ed, nice shack.

Next MN NSX get together at your place

Thanks all again for the comments - it is pretty cool.

We just had the End of Year 2008 NSX shindig and the guys just left.

See and read all about it here.

Actually, the differences between our new home and the 'cribs' out there are:
- Color selection done by a sighted person (my wife).
- There aren't 17 flat panel displays hanging from every wall.
- No gold plated anything in the house.
- No Cristal in the beverage fridges, only Veuve Clicquot here.
- My name isn't etched, imprinted or inlayed into any of the furnishings.
- The only animal print you'll find are on the animals I killed and the two live cats.
- I have a better car.

:)
