NSXPO 2015: Palm Springs, CA - October 8-11 - www.NSXPO2015.com

Well I do understand that I think that price is just ridiculous to pay to bring my girlfriend as I am sure others feel the same way about bringing their significant others.

What about the price is "just ridiculous"?

And many members, including myself, bring significant others along each year.

For it to be the same exact price to bring a guest as it is to have each come with cars and participate in everything.

I just think it would have been a nice addition of there was a more open NSX meet feel for the NSXpo, I under stand you guys want to provide lots of events such as dinners etc. I am just interested in meeting the other Nsx owners, see their cars. I wouldn't want to go with out my significant other but most of the events neither of us are interested in especially for the price but would have really enjoyed a meet up one of the days that wasn't as limited to 250 including vendors guest etc.

I mean she wouldn't be participating in the HPDE which I am assuming is a large part of the cost of entrance.

The HPDE is a separate fee from the social events cost. Guests pay the same amount because our fixed costs are the same for dinners, entrance fees, etc. whether you are an owner or a guest. The social fees include the non-hpde portion of the track such as autocross and skid pad activities.

I don't quite understand your concern about this not having an "open meet" feel to it since it's not an open meet. It is a multi-day closed event where members and guests pay to attend certain activities as a group. It's your prerogative not to attend if you don't find the activities are things you want to do but 250 others are paying for those activities and the event is designed and held for NSXCA members with a large portion of the costs underwritten by our sponsors.

Sorry I meant the auto cross/skid pad.

Sorry I just thought this was going to be more of a national Nsx meet.

Sorry I just thought this was going to be more of a national Nsx meet.

It's an international meet with Members not only from the USA but also Canada, Australia, Norway and Japan attending.

Speaking of which, we have some incredible support this year. Going to be a lot of very cool surprises in the offerings this year ;-)

I just registered. (Both my wife and I will be attending from Canada)
She is looking forward to partaking in the skid pad, as she did at NSXPO2013.

I'm actually having a lot of difficulty with the site, can someone please look into it?

Also Shaylord, I know what you mean but like Bob said, its more than just a big social meet, its a weekend long event. The only one I went to so far was last year so I can say this about my experience. If we were just a bunch of NSX owners meeting up and not part of an actual known club/organization, we would have NEVER been able to do the things we were able to do and see the things we were able to see. I think what makes this year even more special is with it being located in CA, there will be a lot of NSX's from CA that will show up just to socialize without even taking part in the actual "event" activities. This will probably upset some of the old schoolers but the new school more than welcomes it, just as long as people don't try to attend dinners or tours that they did not pay for in advance. If someone is coming from across the country just to socialize, there are no mandatory events they must attend. However, the pricing does not change, even if you live in the host city. This is why the hotel fee is booked separately from the actual event fee or the additional track fee. This is not like GridLife or ITR Expo, its a completely different event.

Well I do understand that I think that price is just ridiculous to pay to bring my girlfriend as I am sure others feel the same way about bringing their significant others. Not only that it prevents actual Nsx owners from going because of the count limit. I was excited to find out I moved very close to the where it would be held as I've always wanted to attend. But due to all this I do not believe I will be attending.

FYI, the event costs the NSX Club of America more than the cost of attendee registration by a significant margin. Thankfully, we have sponsors who allow us to (hopefully) break even and a club that is willing to take on the financial risk and provide the insurance coverage to allow the event to happen. With out these benefits and hard working volunteers, we wouldn't be having this discussion.

Regarding the count limit: this is the largest NSXPO forecasted. The limit is a shear factor of finding venues large enough to accommodate these many people. In addition, to ask unpaid volunteers (which have been working hard for nearly a year to put on this event) to manage more than this number is unreasonable.

Hope you reconsider, it sounds like your point of view would change should you actually attend.

And a reminder that our hard cap of 250 INCLUDES guests so if you want to bring a significant other register for two at the outset because we will not be able to add one after we close registration shortly. We have had a flurry of "I forgot to include my significant other" requests and we simply are unable to help once we sell out.

p.s. Although we are a comparatively small club, we are doing our best to modernize our website and procedures so please come with us into modern interweb times and use the Paypal payment links to register. Apparently some still don't like/trust Paypal and want to use paper checks but registration is first come, first served and an online registration is immediate and guarantees you a spot. Paper checks and snail mail are not a priority since:

1. I am the only one with access to the snail mail box
2. I am the only one opening and processing mail including checks and am the only one doing the banking when it comes to paper transactions
3. I get to the mailbox no more than once per week and sometimes every second or third week depending upon whether I am on the road on trial
4. I went to the mailbox just now and anticipate NSXPO will be sold out before I go back again

In other words, by the time I am likely to check the snail mail box again you are likely to have lost your registration to someone who did it through the online link.

Sounds like a lot of planning for this event and tons of work so kudos to all who are helping out. I can only imagine the undertaking so very excited to meet many new faces!

The only question we have is when / where should we book hotels? We've stayed in Palm Springs before so know the area pretty well - can we pretty much stay anywhere or is everyone going to be at one hotel?

Also will this hotel site be able to accommodate trucks and trailers since we are not sure where to park once we get here.

thanks in advance!

rick

P.S. since this is one of those rare occasions we will bring out our NSX to Socal - are there any other meets or events that same weekend in October you guys are planning on attending?

We have a host hotel that also will be completely booked shortly so if you plan to stay there and get our group rate please book now.

http://nsxca.org/nsxpo/

Please note that once our room block is sold out there will be a higher rate of $179 per night at the host hotel.

Rick, the hotel is pretty huge since it's also a casino. So parking lot is very spacious for RVs,trailers, etc... Can't beat $159/night in Palm Desert.

Regarding the host hotel: there are currently 20 rooms left available in our preferred room rate block of $159.99 per night. After this point, we've negotiated a second reservation discount of $179.00 per night. This is available until September 8th, or until capacity is filled out. This is discounted from the usual ~$260 per night rate at this time of year.

To make a reservation, please call Agua Caliente directly, and mention "NSXPO" to confirm this rate: 866-923-7244.

Last call for NSXPO! Less than 22 tickets remain. Register ASAP if you'd like to attend!

Absolutely incredible, 4 months out and we are so close to being sold out.
Incredible support guys !
Well done !

What's the cancellation policy from NSXPO? Full refund?

Will need to double check our deadlines but there comes a point where we can't give full refunds due to financial commitments for catering, venues, etc.

Once we are locked in, we will be unable to give full refunds since we will have to cover the expenses.

This is from post #140

We will allow a full refund for either you or your guest within 60 days of the date you registered, or 30 days before the event, whichever comes first.

Thanks. I was going crazy looking through my notes and had a senior moment about looking at earlier post.

No problem Bob. You have answered lots of questions here, some while I was having a senior moment trying to find an answer in my notes LOL
