As the title states, I'm looking to replace my factory Black 02' seats. I previously had black suede bride Brix II... but am currently torn on either Red Recaros, red S2k, or other??
First off Red Recaros:

Red s2k:

or... others in red?

I also plan on the nsx-r red carpet.

Thanks for the input and please keep this thread positive with constructive advice!!

Oh, and here is my X it's going into:

Thanks for the input in advance!!!

OK...I'll share mine. (Thanks to Driving Ambitions!)

What seats are the red recaros nsxot?

Ive got red Brides in mine, which I love and have considered the S2000 Seats many times. They are really great looking. Recaro of course is more "bling" but who cares about that anyway. How much do the S2000 seats weigh?

Want to buy mine? I noticed your in NY? I'm actually thinking going back to black, not shure why and have not made up my mind. My girl says I'm just running out of things to play with on my car and have reached at the change look phase? Maybe I'll buy them back off you in couple years? kinda like a lease.

The Brides are sick and hold deeper and tighter than anything Ive ever sat in. Its sick. and So comfortable and adjustable, I drove 18 hours from Florida to PA without even the slightest discomfort. Maybe thats why their $900 each new.

This is pic of my interior from a magazine

and at Pocono raceway exterior

For Type-R looks, probably the Recardo's. For everyday comfort, I imagine the S2K seats would be better. That's just my .02cents (includes tax and inflation)

OK..I'll share my Brides too!

First of all, anything RED is bling right? But here's the real problem...if you ever intend on tracking your car, then you'd better be under 5 ft tall because the seats almost touch the roof of the car (see the photos for yourself). With a helmet on, you're sure to hit the roof! Also, better make sure they're FIA approved and non-reclinable if you intend on surviving a crash. For show/daily driving, then it doesn't really matter (although I think stocks are still great!).

I've decided not to even sell these seats to anyone for the above reasons. Besides, these make great seats for my game room:smile:

Not necessary. This is red... it's definitely not bling. :D

Hey- you're right! Just can't help but notice a beautiful bright red NSX with a messed up driver's side mirror. Nothing wrong with bling right? My goodness, just trying to shed some light on aftermarket seats to the original poster here without trying to get off the topic!

I never said red was bling, comment was Recaro is "bling" being expensive in relation to the people who actually buy them to use for what there intended for, Real Roll-Caged Racing .

The OP seems to be asking about reclining seats which is why I put my .02 cents in. As far as not surviving a crash solely because they recline? Are you kidding? you are very incorrect. FIA approval does not mean you cant build a safe aftermarket seat without it. most reclinable seats are not FIA approved because the buyers don't require it. fixed seats are for racing and therefore buyers require FIA approval. two different markets requiring two different sets of costs associated with usage, not necessarily safety. why add much more cost to a reclining seat that will never be in a roll cage? Are your stock seats going to fail in a crash just because they recline?

intend on tracking? Did you not notice the pic was at Pocono raceway and I organize track days around my area? Any type of tracking that does require FIA approval, would require a cage as well. Don't know about you but I'm far from going pro.

Maybe I should tell you about how unsafe it is to use your Takata Harnesses without a HANS device because the factory seat belts are designed to apply pressure only to one side to allow other shoulder to move forward thus allowing your neck to keep from snapping. Its proven to be safer with stock. I Have a set of Sparco 5 points that I remove for track days along with that usless mounting brace your using, that I also remove for track days.

Sorry maybe the hight issue was your seat rails were incorrect or something. The Bride Brixx II have High Back but the Seat cushion it self is lower than stock. I wear helmet at track and have no issues and I'm 5'10 and I have had people 6'1 with a helmet Drive my car with no issues. If you look closely at were my seatbelt holes are compared to yours Mine are you will notice a 4-5 inc difference in hight about the same as your Recaros and 4-5 inches lower than your Brides. Maybe you Had a bad experience with Bride but Bride is a very respected brand. I never disrespected Recaro and love the seats.

the problem with the bride pro's posted is definitley the rails, those are small seats anyways and i cant even imagine how you ended up with them that close to the roof, please take a picture of the sides and the mounts and we will point you in the right direction.

also, if you want to survive a crash in a non roll caged car your best best is technicaly reclineable seats since the backs can break and lower the height of your head in the event of a rollover where a non caged car the roof would be easier to come crush in,

which in the unfortuanit even of a rollover you would be very very very bad off and i would say the way your brides(the non reclineables posted) are mounted is very dangerous and should be modified asap.

and furthermore, s2000 seats feel nice, theyre pretty light(i think in the mid 20's) but they are not comfortable for longer trips 1+ hour becaus they are not that incredibly well cusioned.

i wouldnt put s2000 or type r recaro's in an nsx, but each do look nice, so to each thier own.

do you want reclineable seats or non reclineable?

I'd rather crash in cheap seats on the track than crash on the streets with cheap seats. On the street, you get to hit stuff head on that won't move (stationary objects like walls and buildings and cars going the opposite direction at 70 mph head on) while on the track, it's designed to let you "glance" off the walls instead of stopping you dead in your tracks, while flagmen actively wave down other cars so they don't hit you.

So I find this track safety stuff rather funny when it's more dangerous to crash on the street day to day. Generally speaking. Suggestion, go try some out then decide.

BTW, I REALLY like Patricio's Bride Brixx. They look really comfortable.

How ironic my first statement is considering I just could "economically priced" carbon fiber seats that are non FIA approved. Well atleast they're not installed.... yet.

Just my personal opinion but...

You have spent some major money in transforming your NSX to an absolutely beautifull looking NSX-R
Your NSX really looks great IMO.
So, if you want to change your seat as well, I would recommend to just stay as close to the original as possible and just get a good pair for Recare Pole Position.

Have not had the opportunity to try them myself, but from what I've read here on Prime, the Pole Positions are very comfortable AND light as well.

koolaid, if your going to crash on the track theres also a higher chance your going to crash at a greater speed and a chance that if its highspeed your last chance to slow down will be on grass which isnt exactly that great,

so cheap seats just offer less protection and more of a chance of breaking under crash conditions, plus theyre cheap seats, you wouldnt put a set of alteeza tail lights on your nsx just becaus theyre cheap would you?

TO OP: First let me say your car is seriously very sick looking!

Is that a 02+ nsx that you painted the roof?

So what seats did you decide to get? I have a pair of s2000 seats in my garage, are they just bolt on seats for the nsx replacement?

I replaced both my s2000 oem seats with a Bride seats but with 2 different models.

I have the Bride EURO seat on the pass. side for comfort and ease of getting in/out of the car and a Bride Low Max FRP reclining seat for the driver using a LOW MAX bracket.

I wonder if the brackets and holes are interchangeble?

I'd put Recaro's in but not the ones you posted pictures of. Those look like they belong in an Integra. Maybe some Pole Positions or SPG's.

Find a set of the OEM recaros from the EP3 CTR, these come in red, recline, and the headrest is shaped nearly identical to the OEM NSX Type R seats.

When I was considering a conversion on my 1991, it was my intention to source these EP3 recaros.
Have you confirmed if these seats (Civic Type R - EP3 is second gen MY 01-05) fit in an NSX ? I think only the 30th Anniversary special (2002) had these.

Can you post more detail on fitment - rails, seat height, use with helmets, 4/5 point harness, etc ? Also, as most of this was UKDM/EDM only, how did you convert left/right (driver/passenger seats) ?

These seats look cool - check it at http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread/2009552
Or from UK dealer - http://www.capitalseating.co.uk/productdetail.asp?pid=562&type=s&appgrpid=&appid=&rid=62

Thanks in advance

ep3 type r seats are nothing like the nsxr seats

and you can put almost any seat in almost any car you just need mounts for them,

and fyi: ep3 type r seats are not very valued amoung the civic/integra people becaus of the lack or bottom/side bolsters, they look nice but perform not so much

Get the Bride GIAS Low Max carbon kevlar seats. Sat in them...loved them. The rest is history. :D

I have no personal experience with these, I was just considering them for a project; the basic design looks similar to the recaro 'sport' seat, which is regarded as comfortable and supportive, but the seat is covered in the honda type-R perforated materal.

The seats should easily fit in an nsx, the ones that do not tend to have extreme side bolsters, etc. - the sport seat has none of these. If the recaro speed can be installed, the recaro sport is smaller, so there should be no issues. You will need nsx-specific rails, but this is with any seat.

As far as LHD/RHD, this is irrelevant, the buckets are identical, you mount them to rails, which also hold your belts, and install them in the car; if you were buying them with the intention of retaining the installed civic rails, you would need to perhaps modify them to get them to work, but you're not using the rails for an nsx installation.
