OK..I'll share my Brides too!
First of all, anything RED is bling right? But here's the real problem...if you ever intend on tracking your car, then you'd better be under 5 ft tall because the seats almost touch the roof of the car (see the photos for yourself). With a helmet on, you're sure to hit the roof! Also, better make sure they're FIA approved and non-reclinable if you intend on surviving a crash. For show/daily driving, then it doesn't really matter (although I think stocks are still great!).
I've decided not to even sell these seats to anyone for the above reasons. Besides, these make great seats for my game room:smile:
I never said red was bling, comment was Recaro is "bling" being expensive in relation to the people who actually buy them to use for what there intended for, Real Roll-Caged Racing .
The OP seems to be asking about reclining seats which is why I put my .02 cents in. As far as not surviving a crash solely because they recline? Are you kidding? you are very incorrect. FIA approval does not mean you cant build a safe aftermarket seat without it. most reclinable seats are not FIA approved because the buyers don't require it. fixed seats are for racing and therefore buyers require FIA approval. two different markets requiring two different sets of costs associated with usage, not necessarily safety. why add much more cost to a reclining seat that will never be in a roll cage? Are your stock seats going to fail in a crash just because they recline?
intend on tracking? Did you not notice the pic was at Pocono raceway and I organize track days around my area? Any type of tracking that does require FIA approval, would require a cage as well. Don't know about you but I'm far from going pro.
Maybe I should tell you about how unsafe it is to use your Takata Harnesses without a HANS device because the factory seat belts are designed to apply pressure only to one side to allow other shoulder to move forward thus allowing your neck to keep from snapping. Its proven to be safer with stock. I Have a set of Sparco 5 points that I remove for track days along with that usless mounting brace your using, that I also remove for track days.
Sorry maybe the hight issue was your seat rails were incorrect or something. The Bride Brixx II have High Back but the Seat cushion it self is lower than stock. I wear helmet at track and have no issues and I'm 5'10 and I have had people 6'1 with a helmet Drive my car with no issues. If you look closely at were my seatbelt holes are compared to yours Mine are you will notice a 4-5 inc difference in hight about the same as your Recaros and 4-5 inches lower than your Brides. Maybe you Had a bad experience with Bride but Bride is a very respected brand. I never disrespected Recaro and love the seats.
