Where are all the Production deliveries ??

I suspect Acura waived some money to clear them out. Three dealers called me today within an hour with much better deals than they were laughing off before. None of them would confirm my suspicion though.

That is a brand new car at a very healthy discounted price in our hometown to boot!

Basically a stripper car minus the ceramic brakes. If you can live without the carbon roof and other bits, this is a great deal!!!!

Best color and wheels too :)

strippers are high maintenance..and eat at weird times

The local Acura dealer (Torrance) just called me today to see if I was still interested. Great follow up btw I test drove the car like 3 months ago. The black demo car has an msrp of ~$201k, says I can have it for $169k. I'll go look again maybe tomorrow as it's next door to the gym I go to on Saturdays but I can wait for further drops.

The update

The NSX Specialists have not been informed on whatever incentives Acura threw at the dealerships that resulted in the super consumer friendly discounts being seen/discussed in the past few days.
Acura doesn't make money of the car to start with so whatever they are doing is going to be a red ink generating thing.
US sales for September will be bad. The numbers were not published today as far as I have seen.
The locking lug nuts mentioned by some one here are from the accessories catalog and would have been dealer installed.
The crashed car purchased back by Acura is at the PMC but no word on the progress of the repair.
They spoke with one owner who has a Fabspeed exhaust and has been happy with it.
No takers on the NSX GT3 yet.
They are still trying to get in touch with Kris Bryant to offer him a tour.
The Acura leadership participants at NSXPO had positive things to say about this year's event.

26 cars for September

Not sure the $30K discount being offered is going to be enough to move the current inventory. The hybrid component is still a large anchor that turns off a number of potential buyers. Also with the 2018 model having no changes from the 2017, I doubt there will be many takers of the 2018's. The near term outlook for the new NSX looks dim from a sales perspective.

I was surprised when the sales number for September 2017 came in higher than last month's.

It sounds like the NSX Specialists get some cryptic data that looks at floor models and actual customer ordered cars sold units. Their data pointed to a down month.

Anyway, with the bargains out there, it will be interesting to see classic price/demand action (i.e. lowering the price for a particular item raises demand) for the next couple of months.

i think you'll definitely see an uptick in sales with these cars as much as $45,000 off list prices. and it wouldn't surprise me to see higher discounts coming...

and as nsx_2k just said, who's gonna fork over $175,000 for a 2018 NSX when you can buy the same (2017) car for $40,000 less?

@Bricks and Bio first of all thanks for all your valuable input here. Can you help me understand better if these recent deep discounts are originating from Acura Corporate as it relates directly to the NSX itself or is it moreso just a general Acura inventory clearance incentive that most dealers take into account each year (i.e. volume quota bonuses, etc). Sorry, if i'm not communicating this well. I don't know enough of what occurs between dealer/manufacturers here.

I have been told it is Acura Corporate (money back) acknowledging it has a problem in regards to pricing structure on the NSX, it will be VERY INTERESTING to see what they do with the 18's as to pricing. If the 17's are soft (read mush) in sales how does that help with 18's which is essentially the same car, will they keep same pricing structure, can you say slippery slope....JM2C

more diffusssssaaaaaaaaa

Thanks RYU

The NSX Specialist had no info on the concession by Acura to the dealerships

I would believe what Space Trucking pointed out

Another fun thing to track is will the Specialty dealers grab some super discounted cars and try to move them in their local markets. Clearly some of them got screwed by buying the early cars (at high prices) and are now competing with cheaper, delivery miles, untitled cars at the dealerships.

My two cents, I don't think the specialty dealerships will layout to get burned a second time....if they do they are foolish..... Much easier to find a three-year-old 458 and have no difficulty selling it.....i'm excited about the discounts, if I don't have a GT three manual confirmed by the end of the week I may have to look at purchasing

its a convoluted system of trunk money based upon cars on the ground and # of nsx sold. smh. max per car from acura is 30. anything over that is the dealership discounting the vehicle.

I saw my SECOND NSX "on the road" today. It looked awesome parked at the local lambo dealer. Trading in? Employee? Who knows, but it looked great.

Yes, Ive only seen 2 on the road since it was launched and both were in Vancouver, a city where I will likely see 5 modern FCars on the way home today, at least a few Lambos, every second car is a Pcar, etc...seems to average one new NSX sighting per year?

What a massive sales flop. I look forward to buying one one day under the same context as I did my 02 that sat at the dealer for over two years before I bought it. Low ball, take it or leave it.

I hope they take it, again. Im really liking the look of the new NSX - I bet its a super sweet car but that that segment and price is just too competitive for an Acura to compete...Doesnt mean its not an awesome car!

I hope somebody redesigns the ugly point out of the rear. Plus, redesigns the front. But given this downward spiral of sales, I don't see this car being around very long for that to happen.
