Guys, as of right now we currently have a few FRP and CF angled DD dash panels in stock (NO WAIT TIME, NO CORE FEE) ready to ship! PM us if you would like to one!

Sidenote: We have gotten a lot of PM requests to build another version more similar to the stock one that retains the OEM ash tray opening and just has a flat cut-out opening for a standard DD unit. The quality would be on par with our current piece in that it will be very thick and robust. The CF weave pattern would match our current offering as well and have the same quality UV clear coat, etc. We would need to create a different mold for this new panel design so just wanted to get a headcount of people who would be interested in leaving a deposit to get one made. As you know the costs to build a different design each time requires a significant investment.

thanks!

let's get a list started and we have a local client who has already left a deposit so he's number 1:

a) NSX - Dave
b)
c)
d)

thank you and happy Friday!

Can you PEM the price for this whole set? How is the fitment?

Fitment is spot on - we test fit each set we make on an actual NSX prior to shipping.

thanks!

We recently had a 2005 RYP NSX owner drop off his car at our Norcal facility for a complete interior make-over in Carbon Fiber. Stay tuned to some AFTER photos but this is the canvas we are working with:

I don't understand why you need cores if you have a mold.

We do NOT need the cores - we are just offering to buy the stock dash panels if you want to get rid of them for some cash back.

We offer our DD dash panels built from scratch so we do NOT need your stock panel in trade, just giving NSX owners an option :)

95gsrturbo: thanks for the kind words, can't wait to see photos. Your piece was an exception due to the first one getting damaged in transit.

Please answer the follow:

What head unit brand is that?

Did you need any extra brackets to install?

If yes where did you get them?

Did you need/use an SOS wiring
harness?

Any modification needed on the console to make the HU fit properly?

Thanks

Headunit is the new Kenwood DNX692 DD deck. Works well and has plenty of connectivity.

We custom built the brackets for this deck but you can re-use the OEM ones as well if you want. We hardwired the radio but sure the SOS or a generic Acura radio harness can also be used - just depends on what else you want to hook up to the radio. We added a backup camera and also will be adding a front camera for those parking situations with the curb clearance.

We did not need to modify the dash for this deck, if you decide to go with a 7" deck then you will need to increase the inner diameter for the deck to clear.

I thought standard WAS 7"? What size did you make the opening?

6.2"?

Our design philosophy was "it's always easier to remove material to enlarge the opening, rather than add material to fill a gap" so we had to make this piece to accommodate most decks out there. Thus we opted to design this deck to fit a 6.5" deck, which in our mock up was a Kenwood DNX692 fixed faceplate design deck.

Keep in mind the mfr. specs of 6.2 or 6.5 or 7" is their own measurement of the interior screen size. The actual plastic bezel that adds size is usually not factored into the deck and there is no "standard" thus every company has slight variations even among their own line-up.

To keep this within our design parameters we had to pick a size that is safe and allow for minute adjustments. Any competent stereo shop can perform these modifications as needed and not have to fabricate the entire deck piece which is what we did. We already did most of the hard engineering work so the final fitment is up to the installer at the time.

We have installed almost every type of deck using this dash piece from a App radio to the latest DD sliding face unit. The key is to take your time in doing the fitment process which again any skilled installer can do.

thanks!

Ok understood but if you have to open the hole that would ruin the carbon fiber would it not?

It really depends on the deck you chose. In some cases if the faceplate is not moving, then the area you sand down is not visible as it's hidden behind the radio faceplate. In other extreme cases yes it would need to be completely sanded down. What we have done is paint the inner bezel matte black to avoid glare and retain the clean look.

We will work with individuals if there is a special need or request as to the best of our ability. As you can imagine making a one-size-fit-all dash panel is not always possible so there will always be exceptions and we will take those on a case by case basis.

We have installed quite a few decks here at our local facility so thus far we have yet to run into any issues that cannot be solved. If you are planning to install a GM special 9" double din unit for example that would not fit :)

Sample of a deck we had to do fitment for dash panel. It's imperative you take your time and work slowly. We recommend a sanding block and using 300 grit then 800/1000 grit to finish off the sanding. For CF dash panels it's best to tape off the front to protect it.
