You might be an NSX owner if...

So good to know that I'm not crazy!
I can relate to almost all of these posts.

How about: Driving barefoot so there's no pedal wear...but mostly
because you like to better "feel" the pedals and aceleration.

... you know the handbrake "easter egg" for turning traction control off. ;)

Ok, I'm a newb, somebody tell me this one.
I think Neo was probably referring to turning the ABS off. After all, there is already a button on the dash to turn the TCS off. But to turn off the ABS, you can lift the hand brake a click or two, and it will be off until you turn off the car, at which point it resets itself.

...you shut the doors by only making contact with the NSX logo to avoid fingerprints on the paint or glass.

I actually push on the key lock plate instead...!
And I thought I was just being silly...

...you've spent more on an exhaust than other folks spend on a supercharger.

This one should really be followed by:

You've spent more on a supercharger than other folks spend on a rebuild.

...if an 8 year old kid at the State Fair says, 'Well if its a Ferrari, how come it has a Honda engine in it?'

Back in my exotic car days, when I owned a 1986 Lotus Esprit, these two guys pulled up next to me in a pickup. One leans out and asks: "What kind of car is that?" And I said "It's a Lotus." And I then immediately after, I heard the other one blurt out: "See... I TOLD YOU... it's a Lotus.... a Lotus DIABLO!"

I love the "is that a Ferrari"? comments from kids. I got that one last year. I guess having a red NSX sparks the Ferrari thoughts more so.

....if you bought a VTECH cordless phone because of the name.

... you've ever heard a 13 year old kid tell you he's got 3 of these in his playstation garage and that he loves the way they handle.
 Hilarious! My nephew basically told me the same thing when he first saw my NSX too!

...if you drive 70 miles to your mechanic even though you live less than 15 miles from three dealerships

...if you purchased a 10 year old Honda over a 2 year old 911 and a brand new M3

...if you laugh when someone asks you to pop the hood

...if you've ever burned your hands replacing the top on a cold day

...if a $1000 clutch is a pipe-dream

...if you've changed three sets of rear tires without replacing one set of fronts, and you DON'T drag race

...if a $1000 muffler seems pretty reasonable

...if the previously mentioned three dealerships close to your house NEVER have the parts you need in stock

...if you can't drive your car at Porsche club or Ferrari club meets. (pussies)

...if you drive a 400+ hp Z06 and get disappointed when the power drops above 5600RPM

...if you'll race ANYBODY from a 65 roll

...if one dead and one crippled (both in horrible accidents) driver are your heros

...if you test drive an M3, and come back thinking, "Man, that thing handles like a barge."

...if you have a car for which a short shift kit would place the gear knob below the center console

...if you have a tiny sports car that has the most comfortable interior of any car you've ever driven

I could go on, but I have to take issue with the Zaino/carwash posts. To me, over-doing that stuff is over-rated.

I had that one and my car is white :)

When you're almost home and you decide the drive was too short and
drive another 5 blocks.
You smile walking away from the car after you shut off the engine and you hear the ticking a little louder and the smell out of the engine area is a little more pronounced.
Or is it just me ? Maybe there's something wrong with my car?

...you spend more time waxing your car than your girlfriend. :D
...you can recognize thumbs up from any other Honda driver on a 1/4 mile distance but never get any thumbs up from a Ferrri driver.

The first thing you do after getting an NSX is:

Buy an aluminum racing jack
Buy 4 Aluminum jack stands with rubber bumper pads
Jack up the car and remove and polish all 4 wheels

To change the oil..

...you've wanted an NSX since 1989

...you never wind down the passenger window because it started to make a popping sound

...you don't use the stereo in case the clicking noises get louder or, even worse, stop all together

...you found your trunk cushions down the crevices after reading the NSX Prime forums

...you now check the trunk cushions every time you open the trunk

...you know the difference between Zymol and Zaino, and which is better

...you know exactly where to get some titanium in an emergency

...you think unobtanium can be found in the periodic table

... you are fairly new to this board and keep referring back to this thread to learn new things about yourself and the NSX...

... you stopped slamming the trunk lid and now do it the right way because of something you read on this thread -> "you look aghast if anyone slams your trunk lid." and "When you close your trunk you lower it slowly by hand, and after it made contact with the car you add enough pressure until you hear the little "click"" -> THANK YOU GUYS!!!

... you angst over the thought of how you use to slam the trunk lid because some salesman told you that's how it's done...

... now you really feel like a noob because at the last couple of meets, you were slamming that trunk lid and wonder how many other members saw you do this dastardly deed...
