I just did a round trip form San Gabriel Valley Ca to San Diego Can which is about 116 miles 1 way. on half a tank.

so that is about 7 gallon on a 230mile trip which is roughly 30mpg?

wow. even if I calculated at 8 gallon it is apx 28mpg.

pretty economical sports car.

I was going 80 most of the way too. Does this sound about right? or are you guys getting even better gas mileage?

Since your car is lower it probably helps reduce drag, possibly helping mileage.

At high speeds such as 80mph the wheels turn on their own witout much effort call it surfing:biggrin: Just a wild theory, is the weather cooler?

I've gotten 25-30mpg while averaging 80-90mph on the highway with the a/c on full blast. It's amazing that an exotic sports car can be ecconomical at the gas pump.

I managed to drive from San Francisco to Orange County (385 miles) and still had close to 1/4 of tank left..

That's going 80mph and sometimes gunning it..

With my 91 on longer trips I would get 26-28mpg. Thats amazing.

I just want to say this car is amazing, its always self revealing.

The most I got was around 28.6 through calculation. LA to Vegas, or LA to SF.

Where I am in the central valley, I only get 24-25mpg at 65 mph with the cruise set on flat highway.

In texas, I was averaging about 85-90 mph with a few high speed blasts to 140+ mph, no cruise, and got about 28-29mpg.

I've been struggling to improve my california mileage but it just plains sucks here for my car.

I get 28-29 when I move through TX, AZ and NV

We got different fuel out here...less calories per unit and therefore less MPG.

Most I get is 26 in CA.

I have NO idea how you guys manage to even get 26 mpg.
In metric terms, that would be 11 km per litre.

Perhaps the weather or the altitude helps you guys a lot, but I have NEVER even gotten close to 26 mpg.

Must be my driving, because over all the years I have my NSX, the average is about 19 mpg at most. And I am using 95 Octane fuel most of the time.

You must really driving easy  Doesn't any one of you EVER shift back to 4th at 100 mph before overtaking someone else ??

I have averaged 22.5 miles per gallon (9.31km/L) since I have owned my NSX even when I had thought I had driven the car particularly hard at times between fill-ups. I almost always get 30+ MPG on the highway. I have made it well over 425 miles on one tank of gas many, many times up to Vegas from SoCal.

And for the record, I downshift into 3rd at 100 mph before overtaking...

I checked the mileage the same day I took delivery of my NSX.

Got 28.6 mpg from Tacoma to Central WA (about 150 miles). Included lots of steep mountain passes and of course the obligatory occasional high-speed fun run while keeping an eye out for smokey.

Kept it around 70-75. No A/C, as it was raining and cold most of the way.

I just drove mine from Long Beach, CA to Ocala, FL (2548 miles). The trip average was 29.57 mpg. My longest leg was 399.8 miles and I still had 5gal reserve fuel. With fuel averaging $3.69/gal, that was a nice surprize.

I drove from Daphne AL to Atlanta GA about 400 miles one way last weekend and got about 28 mpg on my 95. I was driving between 80-90 most of the way. I filled up in Daphne and drove around Atlanta awhile before I needed gas.

I made a cross country trip several years ago and averaged 28 mpg on the trip out. This was a lot of interstate driving 80-85mph.

On the return trip my wife fell asleep for a couple of hours and I wasn't using the cruise. We were crossing western Montana when I glanced at the speedo that was reading 110. It surely didn't feel like we were going that fast. I slowed down and put the cruise on. I didn't calculate the mileage on the return trip, but it wasn't very different (mileage/tank) as the trip out. Pretty amazing!

Last October we drove from Salt Lake City, UT - to Monterrey, CA - then to Dallas, TX, (2500 miles) at 80-85 mph and with cruise, and the AC on we averaged 30 MPG the whole trip. Ironically out of the 3 cars we have the NSX gets the best mileage on the freeway.

My dad and I averaged 27mpg on our 1,500 mile trip to, in and around, Phoenix in 2005 for NSXPO. Only about half of those miles were freeway miles and we certainly enjoyed some "spirited" driving.

Even at normal California highway speeds (anything less than 72 will get you run off the road in S. CA), in 6th gear my old NSX would just sip gas. Very fuel efficient design.

I just got back from a trip to Logan Utah from Seattle. I wanted to check the mileage of the NSX for the first time since owning it. A week before leaving I had the injectors cleaned. Everyting under the hood is stock. I drove the speed limit for the first leg of the trip. I went 521.5 miles on 15.52 gallons. Thats 33.60 mpg. What an amazing vehicle. The low fuel light was just starting to come on. I would have gone another 50 miles but the towns were becoming sparse in southern Idaho. If I did'nt mind the chance of walking I could have squeeked 600 miles out of that tank. I verified the speedometer and odometer with my handheld GPS. The speedo reads 1 mph fast and the odo is high by 2%. Even taking that into account I am still getting just over 33 mpg
